1. Product Overview

The VGEBY Motorcycle Handlebar Clock and Thermometer set provides convenient time and temperature readings directly on your motorcycle's handlebars. Constructed from durable aluminum alloy with a glossy finish, these waterproof units are designed for easy installation on 7/8" or 1" handlebars, suitable for various motorcycle models including cruisers and choppers.

4. Installation

1. Prepare Handlebar: Identify a straight section on your motorcycle's handlebar (suitable for 7/8" or 1" diameter). Ensure the area is clean and free from obstructions.
2. Insert Rubber Mat: Place one of the anti-skip rubber mats around the handlebar at the desired mounting location. This mat helps secure the unit and prevents scratching.
3. Position Unit: Place either the clock or thermometer unit over the rubber mat on the handlebar. The unit features a split ring mount designed to fit around the handlebar.
4. Secure with Allen Screw: Use one of the provided Allen wrenches to tighten the small Allen screw located on the side of the unit's mount. Tighten until the unit is firmly secured and does not rotate freely. Do not overtighten.
5. Repeat for Second Unit: Follow steps 2-4 to install the second unit (either the clock or thermometer) on another suitable location on your handlebar.

5. Operation

5.1 Setting the Clock

1. Gently remove the clear rubber sealing ring from around the clock face.
2. Locate the small adjustment knob on the side of the clock unit.
3. Carefully pull the adjustment knob outwards. You may need to use a small, thin object like a fingernail or a razor blade to get a grip.
4. Turn the knob to set the correct time.
5. Once the time is set, push the knob back in to engage the clock mechanism.
6. Replace the clear rubber sealing ring to maintain water resistance.

5.2 Reading the Thermometer

The thermometer provides an analog display of the ambient temperature. Simply glance at the dial to read the current temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit scales.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the units with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or clear covers.
• Water Resistance: The units are designed to be waterproof. However, ensure the clock's rubber sealing ring is properly seated after setting the time to maintain its water-resistant properties.
• Clock Battery Replacement: The clock unit contains a built-in battery. When the clock stops keeping accurate time, the battery may need replacement. This typically involves carefully opening the back of the clock unit to access and replace the small button-cell battery. Consult a professional if you are unsure about this procedure.
• Thermometer: The thermometer operates mechanically and does not require battery replacement.

7. Troubleshooting

• Clock Not Keeping Time:
  • Ensure the adjustment knob is fully pushed in after setting the time.
  • If the clock still does not keep time, the internal battery may need to be replaced. Refer to the Maintenance section.
• Thermometer Stuck or Inaccurate:
  • The thermometer uses a temperature-sensitive coil. If it appears stuck or reads inaccurately, it might be due to the coil rubbing against the internal backplate.
  • To address this, carefully open the back of the thermometer unit. Gently adjust the copper strip that holds the coil to ensure it moves freely and does not touch the backplate. This may also allow for minor calibration adjustments. Exercise caution to avoid damaging internal components.
• Unit Does Not Fit Handlebar:
  • Verify your handlebar diameter is either 7/8" or 1". These units are designed for these specific sizes.
  • Ensure the anti-skip rubber mat is correctly positioned and not obstructing the fit.
