2. Setup (Installation)
These mud guards are designed for easy installation, typically requiring only a few screws and minimal time. No drilling into the vehicle's body is required for most applications, utilizing existing factory mounting points.
2.1. Included Components:
- Rear Dually Mud Guards (2 pieces)
2.2. Recommended Tools:
- Screwdriver or appropriate wrench for existing fasteners
- Cleaning cloth
2.3. Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged. It is recommended to clean the area around the wheel wells where the mud guards will be installed.
- Identify Mounting Points: Locate the existing factory screw-in points in the rear wheel wells. These mud guards are custom-fit to align with these points.
- Position the Mud Guard: Hold the mud guard in place against the fender, aligning its mounting holes with the vehicle's factory mounting points.
- Secure the Mud Guard: Insert and tighten the provided or existing screws into the aligned holes. Ensure the mud guard is securely fastened but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the plastic.
- Apply Husky Shield Film (Optional): If included, apply the proprietary Husky Shield Film to the vehicle's paint where the mud guard makes contact to prevent rub wear.
- Repeat for Other Side: Follow the same steps for installing the mud guard on the opposite side of the vehicle.
