2. SIM Card Insertion

  1. Open the rubber cover on the side of the device to access the SIM card slot.
  2. Insert the 2G GSM SIM card into the slot with the metal contacts facing down and the cut corner oriented correctly.
  3. Ensure the SIM card is fully seated.
  4. Close the rubber cover firmly to maintain water resistance.

3. Initial Activation and Location Check

After inserting the SIM card, power on the device. To perform an initial check:

  • Use your mobile phone to call the phone number of the SIM card inserted in the tracker.
  • The tracker should respond with an SMS message containing a Google Maps link to its current location.
  • If you do not receive a Google link, contact your SIM card operator to reset the network or check the SIM card status.

4. APN Configuration for App Tracking

If the mobile application cannot track the device in real-time, you may need to configure the Access Point Name (APN) settings. This is done by sending specific SMS commands to the tracker's SIM card number. The APN settings vary by SIM card provider.

Please contact TKSTAR customer support or refer to the detailed instructions provided with your SIM card for the correct APN settings and SMS commands. Typically, this involves sending 3 SMS messages.
