Summer Waves P2000830A Active Frame Pool Instruction Manual
Model: P2000830A
Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Summer Waves P2000830A Active 8ft x 30in Outdoor Round Frame Above Ground Swimming Pool Set. Please read all instructions carefully before setup and use to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Setup Instructions
Proper site preparation and assembly are crucial for the longevity and safety of your pool. Follow these steps for a successful setup.
1. Site Preparation
- Select a firm, level surface for the pool. Uneven ground can cause the pool to collapse.
- Clear the area of any sharp objects, debris, or vegetation that could damage the pool liner.
- Consider placing a ground cloth (not included) under the pool for added protection.
2. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully unpack all components. It is recommended to use a blunt object, like a pencil, instead of a knife to open boxes to avoid damaging the liner.

3. Frame Assembly
- Spread the pool liner out completely on the prepared surface. Ensure the drain plug is facing the desired drainage area.
- Insert the horizontal poles through the sleeves at the top of the pool liner.
- Connect the horizontal poles using the T-fittings. Secure them with the provided pins.
- Attach the vertical support legs to the T-fittings, ensuring they are inserted into the straps on the pool liner.
4. Filter Pump Installation
- Locate the skimmer and water return openings on the pool liner.
- Install the skimmer assembly into the designated opening on the pool wall.
- Install the water return fitting into its opening.
- Connect the filter pump (Model RX330) to the skimmer and water return fittings using the provided hoses and clamps. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Place the filter pump on a stable, level surface near the pool.

5. Filling the Pool
- Begin filling the pool with water. As the water level rises, smooth out any wrinkles on the bottom of the liner.
- Fill the pool to the recommended water line, typically indicated on the liner or in the pump manual. The pool has a water capacity of 801 gallons.

Operating Instructions
Once assembled and filled, your Summer Waves pool is ready for enjoyment. Ensure the filter pump is operating correctly to maintain water clarity.
1. Filter Pump Operation
- Ensure the filter pump is plugged into a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected outlet.
- Turn on the filter pump. The pump should circulate water, drawing it through the skimmer and returning filtered water to the pool.
- Run the filter pump for several hours daily to ensure proper water filtration. The exact duration depends on usage and water conditions.
2. Water Chemistry
- Regularly test your pool water for pH, chlorine, and alkalinity levels using a pool test kit.
- Adjust chemical levels as needed to maintain a balanced and sanitary swimming environment. Follow the instructions on your pool chemical products.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential to keep your pool clean, safe, and extend its lifespan.
1. Filter Cartridge Cleaning and Replacement
- The pool includes a Type D filter cartridge.
- Turn off and unplug the filter pump before performing any maintenance.
- Open the filter pump housing and remove the filter cartridge.
- Rinse the filter cartridge thoroughly with a garden hose to remove debris.
- Replace the filter cartridge every two weeks or sooner if the water flow is reduced or the cartridge appears dirty.
2. Skimmer Basket Cleaning
- Regularly empty the skimmer basket to remove leaves, insects, and other large debris. This prevents clogging and ensures efficient filtration.
3. General Pool Cleaning
- Use a pool net to skim the surface for floating debris daily.
- Brush the pool walls and bottom regularly to prevent algae growth and remove dirt.
- Vacuum the pool floor as needed to remove settled debris.
4. Winterization (Off-Season Storage)
- Completely drain the pool water.
- Clean and dry all pool components thoroughly before disassembling.
- Store the pool liner, frame, and pump in a dry, protected area away from extreme temperatures.

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your pool set.
