2. Setup
2.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Inspect the trash can for any damage. If damaged, do not use and contact customer support.
- Ensure all parts are present: main body, lid with sensor mechanism, and inner ring.
2.2 Battery Installation
The Homra FONIX requires 3 C-type batteries (not included) for the sensor mechanism.
- Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 3 C-type batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2.3 Installing the Trash Bag
The trash can is designed to work with standard 50 to 60-liter trash bags.
- Lift the lid from the main body.
- Place a trash bag into the main body of the can.
- Fold the top edges of the trash bag over the inner ring.
- Place the inner ring with the bag back into the main body, ensuring the bag is securely held and hidden from view.
- Replace the lid onto the main body.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Sensor Operation (Hands-Free)
The Homra FONIX features a hands-free sensor for hygienic operation.
- Ensure the trash can is powered on (check the switch on the underside of the lid).
- Wave your hand approximately 10-15 cm above the sensor located on the lid.
- The lid will automatically open.
- After a few seconds of inactivity, the lid will automatically close softly.

3.2 Manual Operation
For extended opening or manual control, use the buttons on the lid.
- Press the OPEN button to open the lid manually. The lid will remain open.
- Press the CLOSE button to close the lid manually.
