Please read these instructions carefully before using your Bomann VS 2185-1 refrigerator. Keep this manual for future reference.

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the appliance for any damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.
3.2 Placement
Place the refrigerator on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the appliance for air circulation (at least 10 cm at the back and sides, and 30 cm above). Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, and damp environments.
3.3 Leveling
The refrigerator is equipped with adjustable feet. Use a spirit level to ensure the appliance is perfectly level. This prevents vibrations and ensures proper door closure.

3.4 Door Reversal
The door hinge is reversible, allowing the door to open from either the left or right side. Refer to the detailed diagram in the separate installation guide for instructions on how to reverse the door.
3.5 Initial Cleaning
Before first use, clean the interior and all accessories with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Temperature Control
The refrigerator features a continuous temperature control dial located inside the compartment. Turn the dial to adjust the cooling intensity. The temperature range is approximately 0°C to +8°C.

4.2 LED Interior Lighting
The refrigerator is equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting, which illuminates the interior when the door is opened.
4.3 Food Storage Guidelines
- Store cooked foods and dairy products on the upper shelves.
- Raw meat and fish should be stored on the lowest shelf, in sealed containers, to prevent dripping onto other foods.
- Fruits and vegetables should be stored in the transparent vegetable compartment.
- Door shelves are suitable for bottles, jars, and eggs.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Defrosting
This refrigerator features a semi-automatic defrosting system. Frost will automatically melt from the evaporator surface and drain into a tray at the back of the appliance, where it evaporates. If a thick layer of ice builds up, manually defrost the appliance:
- Unplug the refrigerator.
- Remove all food and store it in a cool place.
- Leave the door open to allow the ice to melt. Place a towel at the bottom to absorb water.
- Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging it back in and returning food.
5.2 Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and hygiene.
- Interior: Clean the interior regularly with a solution of lukewarm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. For stainless steel surfaces, use a specialized stainless steel cleaner.
- Door Seal: Clean the door seal regularly to ensure a tight closure.
- Condenser Coils: Periodically clean the condenser coils at the back of the appliance with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to improve efficiency.
6. Troubleshooting
