Setup
1. Attaching the Neck Strap
Thread the ends of the provided neck strap through the strap lugs located on each side of the binocular body. Secure the strap by feeding it back through the buckle, ensuring it is firmly attached to prevent accidental drops.
2. Adjusting Interpupillary Distance (IPD)
The interpupillary distance is the distance between the centers of your pupils. To adjust, hold the binoculars up to your eyes and look through them. Move the two halves of the binoculars closer together or further apart until you see a single, clear circular field of view. This ensures both eyes are properly aligned with the optical path.
3. Eye Relief Adjustment
These binoculars feature 10mm of eye relief. If you wear eyeglasses, you may need to fold down or twist up the eyecups (if adjustable) to achieve the full field of view without vignetting. For users without eyeglasses, keep the eyecups in the extended position.
Operating Instructions
Viewing Through the Binoculars
Hold the binoculars steady with both hands. Bring them up to your eyes, ensuring your eyes are centered with the eyepieces. The PowerView 10x50mm binoculars feature a fixed focus system, meaning they are designed to be in focus for most distant objects without manual adjustment. This simplifies operation, allowing for quick target acquisition.
The 10x magnification means objects appear ten times closer than they are to the naked eye. The 50mm objective lens diameter allows for significant light gathering, providing bright images, especially in lower light conditions.
Optical Technologies
- ED Prime Glass: Extra-low dispersion glass minimizes chromatic aberration, delivering superior color resolution and contrast.
- Ultra Wide Band Coating: An anti-reflection coating applied to each lens element to optimize light transmission, resulting in maximum brightness and true color fidelity.
- RainGuard HD: A patented, permanent, water-repellent coating that causes moisture to bead up, ensuring clear vision in wet conditions.
Maintenance
Cleaning Lenses
Use only the provided lens cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optics. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust and smudges. For stubborn dirt or fingerprints, a small amount of lens cleaning fluid designed for coated optics can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens. Avoid using abrasive cloths, paper towels, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch the lens coatings.
Storage
When not in use, store your binoculars in their protective carrying case in a cool, dry place. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, which can damage the optical components and rubber armor.
Water Resistance and Fogproof Protection
These binoculars are O-ring sealed for water repellency and nitrogen purged for fogproof performance. While they are designed to withstand moisture, they are not intended for submersion. If the binoculars become wet, wipe them dry with a soft cloth.
Troubleshooting
Blurry Image
- Ensure the interpupillary distance is correctly adjusted for your eyes.
- Verify that the lenses are clean and free from smudges or dust.
- Remember these binoculars have a fixed focus; objects very close to the viewer may appear out of focus.
Fogging Inside Lenses
- The binoculars are nitrogen purged to prevent internal fogging. If fogging occurs, contact customer support.
- External fogging can be wiped away with a lens cloth. RainGuard HD helps minimize this.
Difficulty Seeing a Full Field of View
- Adjust the eyecups to match whether you are wearing eyeglasses or not.
- Ensure your eyes are centered on the eyepieces.
