This image highlights the 10-minute auto-sleep function of the Yottamaster DY200C3 enclosure. The enclosure is shown on a desk next to a computer displaying video editing software, with a graphic indicating the 10-minute idle time before sleep mode activates, which helps in power saving and drive protection.
4.4 Safe Removal
Always safely eject the hard drive enclosure from your operating system before disconnecting the USB cable or power. This prevents data corruption and ensures the integrity of your files.
- Windows: Click the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" icon in the system tray, then select the Yottamaster device.
- macOS: Drag the drive icon from your desktop to the Trash, or right-click the drive icon and select "Eject".
Important Note: Before turning off power or changing drives, always safely remove the drive from your operating system. If power is suddenly cut, data may be corrupted. If performing a hot-swap (if supported by your system and the enclosure), wait at least 1 minute after safely removing the drive before physically removing it.
5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Yottamaster DY200C3 enclosure and the installed hard drives.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the enclosure. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
- Ventilation: Ensure the enclosure's ventilation holes and fan are not obstructed to allow for efficient heat dissipation. The built-in 60mm silent fan and rear vents are designed to maintain optimal operating temperatures.
- Environmental Conditions: Operate the enclosure in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, humidity, and strong magnetic fields.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Yottamaster official website for any available firmware updates for your device.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Yottamaster DY200C3 enclosure, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Enclosure not recognized by computer:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the enclosure is powered on.
- Verify the USB data cable is firmly connected to both the enclosure and your computer.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.
- Test with a different USB cable if available.
- Check your computer's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS) to see if the drive is detected but uninitialized or unformatted.
- Slow data transfer speeds:
- Ensure you are connected to a USB 3.0/3.1 port on your computer. USB 2.0 ports will result in significantly slower speeds.
- Verify the hard drives themselves are not the bottleneck (e.g., older HDDs have lower maximum speeds).
- Avoid transferring many small files simultaneously, as this can reduce overall transfer rates.
- Drive not appearing after installation:
- Confirm the hard drive is properly seated in the enclosure's SATA connector.
- For new drives, they must be initialized, partitioned, and formatted in your operating system's disk management tools.
- Test the hard drive in another enclosure or directly connect it to a computer (if possible) to rule out a drive issue.
- Enclosure overheating:
- Ensure the enclosure's ventilation holes are clear and not blocked.
- Operate the device in a well-ventilated area.
- Verify the internal cooling fan is operating (if audible).
