Operating the Boom Arm
The Samson MBA28 is designed for silent and effortless positioning, thanks to its internal springs.
- Positioning: Gently grasp the boom arm and move it to your desired position. The internal springs will hold it in place without the need for external knobs or levers.
- Rotation: The boom arm can rotate 360 degrees at its base, allowing for flexible placement and easy movement out of the way when not in use.
- Adjusting Tension: If needed, the tension of the arm's joints can be adjusted using the small screws located at each pivot point. Use an appropriate tool (not included) to make minor adjustments.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Samson MBA28 Microphone Boom Arm, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the boom arm regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Joint Inspection: Periodically check all pivot points and mounting connections to ensure they are secure. Tighten any loose screws as needed.
- Spring Care: The internal springs are designed for durability. Avoid excessive force or sudden movements that could strain the mechanism.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Samson MBA28 Microphone Boom Arm, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Arm is too loose/tight: Adjust the tension screws at the pivot points using an appropriate tool. Turn clockwise to tighten, counter-clockwise to loosen.
- Microphone wobbles: Ensure your microphone clip or shock mount is securely screwed onto the 5/8”-27 threading. Also, check that the boom arm is firmly seated and locked into its desk mount.
- Mount is unstable: For C-clamp mounts, ensure it is fully tightened to a sturdy surface. For flange mounts, verify that the screws are properly installed and tightened into a solid surface.
