3. Setup
3.1 Powering the Keyboard
Your CTK-3500 can be powered using the included AC adapter or with AA batteries for portable use.
- Using the AC Adapter: Connect the AC adapter to the DC 9.5V port on the rear panel of the keyboard and plug it into a standard wall outlet.
- Using Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard. Insert six (6) AA-size alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
3.2 Music Stand Installation
Insert the wire-frame music stand into the designated slots located on the top panel of the keyboard, behind the display screen.
3.3 Connecting External Devices
The CTK-3500 offers various connectivity options on its rear panel:
- Headphones/Output: Connect headphones to the 3.5mm PHONES/OUTPUT jack for private practice. This port can also be used to connect the keyboard to an external PA system or amplifier.
- Audio In: Use the 3.5mm AUDIO IN jack to connect an external audio player (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) and play along with your favorite songs through the keyboard's speakers.
- Sustain Pedal: Connect an optional sustain pedal to the SUSTAIN jack for extended note duration.
- USB (MIDI): Connect the USB Type B port to a computer or compatible smart device (Android/Apple) for MIDI data transfer, enabling use with digital audio workstation (DAW) software or the Chordana Play app.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control
- Power: Press the POWER button to turn the keyboard on or off. The keyboard features an auto power-off function to conserve energy.
- Volume: Use the VOLUME slider to adjust the overall output level of the keyboard.
4.2 Selecting Tones and Rhythms
The CTK-3500 offers 400 tones and 150 rhythms. Use the numeric keypad and the TONE or RHYTHM buttons to select your desired sound or accompaniment.
4.3 Dance Music Mode
Engage the Dance Music Mode to create and remix electronic dance music with 50 built-in patterns. This mode allows you to combine different phrases and effects to produce unique tracks.

4.4 Song Bank & Step-Up Lesson System
The keyboard includes a Song Bank with 60 built-in songs. Utilize the Step-Up Lesson System to learn these songs at your own pace, with on-screen guidance for fingering and notes.
4.5 Touch Response & Pitch Bend
- Touch Response: The keys are touch-sensitive, meaning the volume of the sound changes based on how hard or soft you press the keys, mimicking an acoustic piano.
- Pitch Bend: Use the Pitch Bend wheel located on the left side of the keyboard to smoothly raise or lower the pitch of notes, adding expressive nuances to your playing.
5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Casio CTK-3500, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the keyboard's surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then wipe dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the keyboard or subjecting it to strong impacts. Do not place heavy objects on top of it.
- Power: Disconnect the AC adapter when not in use for extended periods. Remove batteries if the keyboard will not be used for a long time to prevent leakage.
6. Troubleshooting

- No Sound: Check the volume slider, ensure headphones are not plugged in if using speakers, and verify the power supply (AC adapter or batteries) is correctly connected and functioning.
