4. Setup and Programming

4.2. Ignition Key Programming (User Programmable)

If you have at least one existing, working ignition key, you can program the new cut key yourself. Follow these steps:

  1. Insert your existing, working key into the ignition and turn it to the 'ON' position (do not start the engine).
  2. Wait for the security indicator light on the dashboard to turn off.
  3. Within 20 seconds, remove the existing key.
  4. Immediately insert the newly cut key into the ignition and turn it to the 'ON' position.
  5. Wait for the security indicator light to turn off. The new key is now programmed.
  6. Test the new key to ensure it starts the vehicle.

4.3. Remote Fob Programming

For vehicles manufactured before 2010: The remote fob is user-programmable. Detailed step-by-step instructions are typically provided with the product packaging. Please refer to those specific instructions for your vehicle model.

For vehicles manufactured in 2010 and newer: The remote fob must be programmed by a professional locksmith or a dealership. These vehicles often require specialized diagnostic equipment for programming.

Note: If programming multiple remotes, all remotes (existing and new) must be programmed at the same time. Failure to do so may result in older remotes no longer functioning.

5. Operating Instructions
