Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Note: This product includes the machine head only. The table, stand, motor, and binder attachment are not included and must be acquired separately.
Setup
1. Mounting the Machine Head
Securely mount the Yamata FY335A machine head onto a compatible industrial sewing machine table and stand. Ensure all mounting bolts are tightened to prevent vibration and instability during operation.
2. Connecting Power and Motor
Connect the machine to a suitable industrial sewing machine motor (not included). Follow the motor manufacturer's instructions for electrical connections and belt installation. Ensure the power source matches the motor's requirements.
3. Lubrication System
The FY335A features a semi-automatic lubrication system. Before first use, fill the oil reservoir with industrial sewing machine oil (ISO VG 22 or equivalent). Check the oil level regularly and refill as needed. The system will distribute oil to critical moving parts during operation.

4. Needle Installation
- Ensure the machine is powered off.
- Loosen the needle clamp screw.
- Insert a new needle (type 135x17 or DPx17) with the flat side facing the back of the machine.
- Push the needle up as far as it will go.
- Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.

5. Bobbin Winding and Installation
Refer to the bobbin winder mechanism (if present on your motor/table setup) for winding bobbins. For installation, open the bobbin case cover, insert the wound bobbin into the large horizontal axis rotary hook, and thread it according to standard industrial sewing machine practices. Ensure the thread feeds smoothly from the bobbin case.
6. Threading the Machine
Follow the thread path indicated on the machine, passing the thread through all guides, tension discs, and the take-up lever before threading the needle from left to right. Use thread up to size 207 for optimal performance with heavy materials.

1. Adjusting Presser Foot Lift and Height
The Yamata FY335A features a simple wing nut adjustment to raise and lower the center foot. This is critical for sewing different thicknesses of material and navigating uneven seams.
- To adjust: Locate the wing nut on the back side of the presser foot assembly. Loosen it to adjust the height of the center foot.
- For thicker materials: Raise the center foot to allow the material to pass freely without excessive drag.
- For thinner materials: Lower the center foot to ensure proper material feeding and stitch formation.
- For uneven seams: Adjust the foot height to accommodate transitions between material layers, preventing the machine from stalling or skipping stitches.

2. Stitch Length Adjustment
The stitch length can be adjusted to suit your project requirements. Consult the machine's specific controls for stitch length adjustment, typically a dial or lever. The maximum stitch length is approximately 6mm (4.2 SPI).
3. Reverse Feed Operation
To engage reverse stitching, depress the reverse feed lever. This function is useful for reinforcing seams at the beginning and end of a stitch line.
4. Working with the Cylinder Arm
The narrow cylinder arm (50mm diameter) is ideal for sewing cylindrical items such as bags, shoes, purses, and other three-dimensional objects. Position the item around the cylinder arm to allow for easy manipulation and precise stitching.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly clean lint, dust, and thread scraps from the bobbin area, feed dogs, and tension discs. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
2. Lubrication
Check the oil level in the reservoir daily or before each use. Refill with appropriate industrial sewing machine oil as needed. The semi-automatic system will lubricate internal components, but specific points may require manual oiling as indicated in a more detailed service manual (if available).
3. Needle Replacement
Replace needles frequently, especially when working with tough materials or if you notice skipped stitches or thread breakage. A dull or bent needle can damage fabric and affect stitch quality.
