2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety instructions before assembly and use. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in injury or damage to the product.
- Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for assembly, mounting, and weight limits.
- Be aware of potential pinch points during assembly and operation, especially when handling the door.
- Use appropriate safety gear, such as gloves, during assembly if necessary.
- If wall-mounting the cabinet, ensure it is securely fastened to a suitable wall material using appropriate hardware (sold separately). The maximum load for a wall-hung cabinet depends on the wall material.
- If placing the cabinet on the floor, it must be completed with feet, legs, or a toe kick (sold separately) for stability and proper weight distribution. The maximum load is 33 lbs per horizontal surface when placed on the floor.
- Do not overload the cabinet. Distribute weight evenly.
3. Components
Before beginning assembly, ensure all components are present and undamaged. While specific part numbers are not listed here, the cabinet typically includes:
- Cabinet panels (top, bottom, sides, back)
- Door panel
- Wedge dowels for assembly
- Integrated push-opener mechanism
- Hinges and associated hardware
Note: Feet, legs, and toe kicks are sold separately and are required if the cabinet is to be placed on the floor.
4. Setup and Assembly
Assembly of the IKEA Cabinet is designed to be quick and straightforward, primarily utilizing wedge dowels that click into pre-drilled holes.
4.1. Basic Cabinet Assembly
- Unpack all components and lay them out on a clean, soft surface to prevent scratching.
- Identify the cabinet panels. Insert the wedge dowels into the designated pre-drilled holes on the connecting panels.
- Align the panels and gently push them together until the wedge dowels click securely into place. Ensure all connections are tight and flush.
- Attach the back panel to the assembled frame, typically by sliding it into grooves or fastening it with small nails/screws (refer to specific hardware provided).

4.2. Door Installation
- Attach the hinges to the door panel and the cabinet frame according to the provided instructions.
- Install the integrated push-opener mechanism into its designated slot on the cabinet frame.
- Carefully attach the door to the hinges on the cabinet frame. Adjust the hinges as needed to ensure the door is level and closes properly.
4.3. Placement Options
The cabinet offers flexible placement options:
- Floor Placement: If placing on the floor, attach compatible feet, legs, or a toe kick (sold separately) to the bottom of the cabinet. This ensures stability and proper support for the maximum load of 33 lbs per horizontal surface.
- Wall Mounting: For wall-hung installation, use appropriate wall mounting hardware (sold separately) suitable for your wall material. Ensure the cabinet is securely anchored to prevent tipping. The maximum load capacity for wall-mounted cabinets varies based on wall material and mounting method.

- To Close: Push the door firmly until you hear a click, indicating that the push-opener has engaged and the door is securely closed.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your IKEA Cabinet, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe clean with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner. Dry with a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish.
- Dusting: Regularly dust the surfaces with a soft, dry cloth.
- Inspections: Periodically check all assembly connections and mounting hardware (if wall-mounted) to ensure they remain tight and secure. Retighten screws if necessary.
- Door Mechanism: If the push-opener mechanism becomes stiff or unresponsive, ensure no debris is obstructing it. Avoid forcing the door.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your cabinet, consider the following common solutions:
- Door not closing properly: Check if anything is obstructing the door or the push-opener mechanism. Ensure the hinges are properly aligned and tightened.
- Cabinet feels wobbly: If floor-standing, ensure feet/legs/toe kick are securely attached and level. If wall-mounted, verify that the mounting hardware is appropriate for the wall type and securely fastened.
- Scratches or minor damage: For minor blemishes, touch-up paint or repair kits designed for furniture may be used. Consult IKEA for recommended products.
