4. Setup
4.1. Inserting a MicroSD Card
Before first use, insert a high-speed MicroSD card (Class 10 or higher, up to 32GB recommended, not included) into the designated slot on the main camera unit. Ensure the card is inserted correctly until it clicks into place. Format the card within the camera's settings menu for optimal performance.
4.2. Mounting the Main Camera
- Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the camera.
- Attach the suction cup mount to the main camera unit.
- Press the suction cup firmly against the windshield and engage the locking lever to secure it.
- Adjust the camera angle to ensure a clear view of the road ahead.
4.3. Installing the Rear Camera
- Mount the rear camera on the rear windshield or license plate area using the provided adhesive or screws.
- Route the rear camera cable to the main camera unit, ensuring it does not interfere with driving or vehicle components. Use the mounting clips to secure the cable.
- Connect the rear camera cable to the dedicated input port on the main camera.
- For automatic reverse view display, connect the red wire from the rear camera cable to your vehicle's reverse light power supply. Consult a professional if unsure.
4.4. Power Connection
Connect the car charger to your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket) and plug the other end into the main camera unit's power input. The camera will typically power on and begin recording automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Powering On/Off
- Automatic: The camera powers on and off automatically with your vehicle's ignition.
- Manual: Press and hold the Power button on the main unit to manually turn the camera on or off.
5.2. Recording Modes
- Loop Recording: The camera records video in continuous loops (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten.
- G-Sensor (Emergency Recording): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video file, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.
- Parking Monitor: When enabled, the camera will automatically start recording if it detects a vibration or impact while the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off. This feature requires a continuous power supply or the camera's internal battery.
5.3. Menu Navigation
Use the buttons on the side of the main unit to navigate through the menu options displayed on the 3-inch LCD screen. Common settings include video resolution, loop recording duration, G-sensor sensitivity, date/time, and language.
5.4. Rear View Display
If the rear camera is correctly installed and connected to the reverse light, the main camera's screen will automatically display the rear view when you engage reverse gear.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lenses and screen.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surfaces.
6.2. Memory Card Management
Regularly format your MicroSD card (at least once a month) within the camera's settings to prevent data corruption and ensure optimal recording performance. Back up any important video files before formatting.
6.3. Battery Care
The camera contains a built-in Li-ion battery (3.7V/120mAh). To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures for extended periods. The USB port is for charging only and does not support mass storage or PC camera functions.
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera not powering on: Ensure the car charger is properly connected and the vehicle's power outlet is functional. Check the car charger's fuse.
- Camera not recording: Verify that a MicroSD card is inserted and formatted. Check if the card is full or corrupted; try formatting it.
- Poor video quality: Clean the camera lenses. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses. Check the video resolution settings.
- Rear camera not displaying: Check all cable connections between the main unit and the rear camera. Ensure the rear camera's power connection (if applicable) is secure.
- Camera freezes or malfunctions: Try resetting the camera using the reset button (if available) or by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.
