1. Product Overview

2. Setup and Connection

2.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, ensure the scanner is fully charged. Connect the provided changer cable to the scanner and a suitable USB power source. The 3.7V 1000mA Li-ion battery typically charges in approximately 3 hours.

2.2 Bluetooth Connection

The scanner can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 4.0 to compatible devices. A Bluetooth 4.0 receiver is included for devices without built-in Bluetooth.

  1. Turn on the barcode scanner. The blue light will flash, indicating it is ready for pairing.
  2. On your smartphone, tablet, or PC, go to the Bluetooth settings.
  3. Enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select the Symcode scanner from the list to pair. Once successfully paired, the blue light will become solid.

2.3 Physical Assembly

The scanner may require minor assembly, such as attaching a hand strap or a clip, as shown in the product instructions.

2.4 Installation and Removal Video

3. Operating Instructions

The Symcode MJ-2877-2D scanner is capable of decoding a wide range of 1D and 2D barcodes.

3.1 Scanning Barcodes

To scan a barcode, aim the scanner's light source at the barcode and press the scanning switch. The scanner will emit a beep and the scanned data will be transmitted to your connected device.

3.2 Scanning from Screens

The CMOS technology allows for efficient scanning of barcodes displayed on digital screens, such as smartphones or tablets.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Care

  • Charge the scanner regularly to maintain optimal battery life.
  • Avoid completely draining the battery before recharging.
  • Use only the provided changer cable for charging.

4.2 Cleaning

  • Wipe the scanner's exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Keep the scan window clean and free of dust or debris for optimal performance.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Connectivity Issues

  • Ensure the scanner is charged and powered on.
  • Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your host device and the scanner is in pairing mode (blue light flashing).
  • If using the Bluetooth receiver, ensure it is properly plugged into your device's USB port.
  • Try restarting both the scanner and your host device.

5.2 Scanning Problems

  • Ensure the barcode is clean, clear, and not damaged.
  • Adjust the distance and angle between the scanner and the barcode.
  • Check if the scanner's light source is active when the trigger is pressed.
  • For specific barcode types, refer to the full programming manual (usually provided with the product or available from the manufacturer).
