5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee machine.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the used paper filter and coffee grounds.
  3. Wash the glass carafe and its lid, and the swivel filter holder in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally dishwasher safe (top rack), but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  4. Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or immerse the main unit in water.

5.2 Descaling

Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, limescale deposits may form. Descale your coffee machine regularly (e.g., every 2-4 weeks) to maintain brewing performance and flavor.

  1. Use a commercially available descaling agent suitable for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Alternatively, a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio) can be used.
  3. Run the descaling solution through the machine as if brewing coffee, without coffee grounds.
  4. After descaling, run at least two full cycles with fresh water to rinse out any descaling agent residues.
