Setup

1. Adjusting the Eyecup

The monocular features a twist-up eyecup to accommodate users with and without eyeglasses. Rotate the eyecup to extend or retract it until you achieve a full, clear field of view. This adjustment ensures optimal eye relief, the distance between your eye and the eyepiece lens.

2. Focusing the Monocular

To focus, look through the eyepiece and rotate the focus wheel located on top of the monocular. Turn the wheel clockwise to focus on closer objects and counter-clockwise for more distant objects until the image is sharp and clear.

3. Attaching the Smartphone Adapter

The universal smartphone adapter allows you to capture photos and videos through your monocular. Follow these steps:

  1. Assemble the smartphone adapter by connecting the phone clamp to the eyepiece holder using the provided screw. Ensure the screw is tightened securely.
  2. Place your smartphone into the clamp, ensuring it is held firmly.
  3. Align your phone's camera lens with the center of the adapter's eyepiece opening. Adjust the phone's position horizontally and vertically as needed.
  4. Insert the adapter onto the monocular's eyepiece. Tighten the adapter's screw to secure it to the monocular.
  5. Open your phone's camera app. You may need to use the digital zoom feature on your phone to eliminate any vignetting (dark edges) and achieve a full-screen view through the monocular.

4. Tripod Mounting

For extended viewing sessions or to reduce shake during photography/videography, you can mount the monocular on a tripod. The monocular has a standard tripod thread at its base. Remove the small screw with a loop from the base to reveal the tripod mount. Attach the monocular to any standard tripod.

Operating Instructions

Once set up, your Gosky Titan monocular is ready for use. Hold the monocular firmly and bring it to your eye. Adjust the eyecup and focus wheel as described in the Setup section to achieve a clear and comfortable view. For best results, ensure stable positioning, especially at higher magnifications.

Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use the provided lens cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the lenses. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of lens cleaning fluid designed for optics. Avoid abrasive materials or excessive force.
  • Body Cleaning: Wipe the monocular body with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Storage: Store the monocular in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place when not in use. Ensure lens caps are in place to protect the optics from dust and scratches.
  • Waterproof Care: While the monocular is "living waterproof" (resistant to moderate rain and snow), it is not designed for submersion. Avoid dropping it into water.

Troubleshooting

  • Image not centered when using smartphone adapter: Adjust the position of your smartphone within the adapter clamp to ensure the camera lens is perfectly aligned with the monocular's eyepiece.
  • Small image or blurry edges on smartphone screen: Use your smartphone's digital zoom feature to enlarge the image and remove any vignetting.
  • Eyepiece cap is loose: The eyepiece cap is designed to be removable. If it falls off easily, consider attaching a small string or lanyard through its loop to secure it to the monocular.
  • Shaky images/videos: For stable viewing and recording, especially at high magnifications, it is highly recommended to use a tripod.
