Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use, calibration, and maintenance of your VIVOSUN Digital pH and TDS Meter Kit. This kit includes a high-accuracy pH meter and a 3-in-1 TDS/EC/Temperature meter, designed for precise water quality measurements in various applications such as hydroponics, aquariums, and swimming pools. Product Overview

The VIVOSUN Digital pH and TDS Meter Kit provides essential tools for monitoring water quality. The pH meter offers high accuracy for acidity/alkalinity, while the TDS meter measures total dissolved solids, electrical conductivity, and temperature.

Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove both meters and accessories from the packaging.
2. Battery Installation:
   • The pH meter uses 2x1.5V LR44 button cells.
   • The TDS meter uses 1x3V CR2032 button cell.
   • Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
3. Protective Caps: Remove the protective caps from the electrode of each meter before use. Retain these caps for storage.

Operation

pH Meter Operation:

1. Turn on the pH meter by pressing the "ON/OFF" button.
2. Immerse the electrode into the solution to be tested. Ensure the electrode is fully submerged but do not exceed the immersion line.
3. Gently stir the solution and wait for the reading to stabilize (approximately 20-30 seconds).
4. Read the displayed pH value.
5. After use, rinse the electrode with distilled water and replace the protective cap.

TDS/EC/Temperature Meter Operation:

1. Turn on the TDS meter by pressing the "ON/OFF" button.
2. Immerse the electrode into the solution to be tested. Ensure the electrode is fully submerged.
3. Gently stir the solution and wait for the reading to stabilize.
4. Mode Switching: Press the "MODE/CAL" button to cycle through TDS (ppm), EC (µs/cm), and Temperature (°C/°F) display modes.
5. Hold Function: Press the "HOLD" button to lock the displayed reading for easy viewing. Press again to release.
6. Read the displayed value.
7. After use, rinse the electrode with distilled water and replace the protective cap.

Calibration

Regular calibration ensures the accuracy of your meters. It is recommended to calibrate the pH meter monthly or if readings appear inconsistent. The TDS meter is typically factory calibrated but can be re-calibrated if necessary.

pH Meter Calibration:

1. Prepare 250ml of distilled water for each buffer powder (pH 4.00, pH 6.86, pH 9.18). Dissolve one packet of buffer powder into each 250ml of distilled water.
2. Turn on the pH meter.
3. Immerse the electrode into the pH 6.86 buffer solution.
4. Press and hold the "CAL" button for 5 seconds until the display flashes "CAL" and then the pH value. Release the button.
5. The meter will automatically recognize the buffer solution and calibrate. Wait for the reading to stabilize.
6. Rinse the electrode with distilled water.
7. Repeat steps 3-5 for pH 4.00 and pH 9.18 buffer solutions, in that order.
8. After successful calibration, the meter is ready for use.

TDS Meter Calibration:

The TDS meter is factory calibrated to 1413 µs/cm. If re-calibration is needed:

1. Prepare a 1413 µs/cm standard solution (sold separately).
2. Turn on the TDS meter.
3. Immerse the electrode into the 1413 µs/cm standard solution.
4. Press and hold the "MODE/CAL" button for 5 seconds until the display flashes.
5. The meter will automatically calibrate. Wait for the reading to stabilize.
6. Rinse the electrode with distilled water.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Always rinse the electrodes of both meters with distilled water after each use to prevent contamination and ensure accuracy.
• Storage: Store the meters with their protective caps on in a cool, dry place. For the pH meter, ensure the electrode is kept moist by adding a few drops of pH storage solution or distilled water to the cap if storing for extended periods.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or the meter fails to power on.
