Setup

Before initial use, ensure the Testo 552 is properly prepared and connected to your system. The device requires 2 x AA batteries for operation. Connect the gauge to the system using appropriate hoses and adapters.

Connecting the Gauge

  1. Identify the 7/16" UNF connections on the Testo 552.
  2. Attach the appropriate vacuum hoses to these connections. Ensure a tight seal to prevent leaks.
  3. Connect the other end of the hoses to your refrigeration or HVAC system's service ports.

Battery Installation

The Testo 552 operates on 2 x AA batteries, providing approximately 50 hours of battery life without Bluetooth or backlighting. Refer to the back of the device for the battery compartment.

Basic Operation

  1. Press the power button (Ι) to turn on the device.
  2. Ensure the gauge is connected to the system as described in the Setup section.
  3. Initiate the vacuum pump. The Testo 552 will display the current vacuum level in microns, mbar, or other selectable units.
  4. Monitor the display for real-time vacuum readings. The device will provide notifications when the target vacuum level is achieved.
  5. Use the 'set' button to configure measurement parameters or target values.
  6. The backlight button () can be used to illuminate the display in low-light conditions.
