AlveyTech OKIN W52RA76-290018 Lift Chair Power Supply/Transformer User Manual

Model: W52RA76-290018 (LM5-6501)

1. Product Overview

The AlveyTech OKIN W52RA76-290018 Lift Chair Power Supply/Transformer is designed as a direct replacement for earlier OKIN SP2-B and SP2-B2 transformer models. It provides reliable power for a wide range of lift chair models from various manufacturers, including Golden and Pride.

Key features include:

  • Direct replacement for OKIN SP2-B & SP2-B2 transformers.
  • Equipped with a 9-volt emergency backup system to return the lift chair to an egress position during power outages. (Note: 9-volt batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.)
  • Designed with a tighter plug-in aperture for enhanced cord security, preventing accidental disconnections.

2. Setup and Installation

This power supply is designed for straightforward installation. Please follow these steps:

  1. Unpack the Power Supply: Carefully remove the power supply from its packaging.
  2. Insert Backup Batteries (Optional but Recommended): Locate the battery compartment (typically on the underside) and insert two standard 9-volt batteries. These batteries provide emergency power for a single return to egress position during a power outage.
  3. Connect Power Cords:
    • Connect the AC input cord (not included) to the power supply's AC input port and then to a standard 115VAC, 50/60HZ wall outlet.
    • Connect the DC output cord (not included) from the power supply's DC output port to your lift chair's power input.

Note: Power cords are not included with this transformer and must be purchased separately. The plug-in aperture for the transformer cable is designed to hold the male plug securely, requiring a firm push to insert or remove. This is a safety feature to prevent accidental disconnections.

  4. Verify Connection: Ensure all connections are secure. The DC Power indicator light on the top of the unit should illuminate when properly connected to a power source.

3. Operation

Once properly installed and connected, the AlveyTech OKIN W52RA76-290018 power supply will provide continuous 24VDC power to your compatible lift chair. The lift chair's original hand control or integrated controls will function as usual, drawing power from this unit.

In the event of a main power interruption, the installed 9-volt backup batteries will temporarily supply enough power for one emergency operation cycle, allowing the lift chair to return to a safe egress position.

4. Maintenance

The AlveyTech OKIN W52RA76-290018 power supply requires minimal maintenance. To ensure optimal performance and longevity:

  • Keep Clean: Periodically wipe the exterior of the unit with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust and debris.
  • Ensure Ventilation: Do not cover the unit or place it in an enclosed space where airflow is restricted.
  • Check Connections: Regularly inspect all power cord connections to ensure they are secure and free from damage.
  • Battery Replacement: If using the 9-volt backup feature, replace the batteries periodically (e.g., annually) or after they have been used during a power outage to ensure emergency functionality.
  • Avoid Moisture: Keep the power supply away from water and excessive humidity.
