Model: RR7079TKIT

Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

This instruction manual provides detailed guidance for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Anderic Universal Remote and Receiver Kit (Model RR7079TKIT). This kit is designed to convert most 3-speed ceiling fans into a wireless remote-controlled system, allowing you to adjust fan speeds and light settings conveniently.

Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning installation to ensure proper setup and safe operation.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock. Disconnect power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before installation or servicing.

  • Always turn off the power supply to the ceiling fan at the main circuit breaker before attempting any installation, repair, or maintenance.
  • Ensure all electrical connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes. If you are unsure about wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
  • Do not use this kit with solid-state fan speed controls.
  • The receiver is designed for indoor use only.
  • Do not exceed the maximum electrical ratings of the receiver.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present in your package:

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully to install the remote and receiver kit:

  1. Disconnect Power: Before starting, ensure the power to the ceiling fan is completely off at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Test the fan and light switch to confirm power is off.
  2. Access Fan Canopy: Carefully lower the ceiling fan canopy (the decorative cover that hides the wiring connections at the ceiling). You may need a screwdriver to loosen screws.
  3. Identify Wiring: Inside the canopy, identify the existing wiring:
    • Live (Hot) Wire (usually black or red from ceiling)
    • Neutral Wire (usually white from ceiling)
    • Fan Motor Wire (usually black from fan)
    • Light Kit Wire (usually blue from fan)
    • Ground Wire (usually green or bare copper)
  4. Set Dip Switches: Both the remote control and the receiver have a set of dip switches (small switches labeled 1, 2, 3, 4). These switches must be set to the exact same pattern (ON or OFF) on both the remote and the receiver for them to communicate. Use a small screwdriver or pen to adjust them. This allows multiple remote kits to be used in one area without interference.

Image: The Anderic remote control and receiver unit. The receiver clearly shows the blue dip switch block with four switches labeled 1-4, which must be matched with the remote's internal dip switches.

  5. Wire the Receiver: Connect the receiver wires to the corresponding fan and house wires using the provided wire nuts. Refer to the wiring diagram below:
    Receiver Wiring Diagram
Receiver Wire Color Connect To Description
Black (AC IN L) House Live (Hot) Wire Power input from ceiling
White (AC IN N) House Neutral Wire Power input from ceiling
Blue (TO LIGHT) Fan Light Kit Wire Output to fan light
Black (TO MOTOR L) Fan Motor Wire Output to fan motor
Green (Ground) House Ground Wire Safety ground connection
  6. Secure Receiver: Carefully tuck all wires and the receiver unit into the fan canopy. Ensure no wires are pinched and there is enough space for the receiver. The receiver is designed to fit inside most standard fan canopies.
  7. Reattach Canopy: Securely reattach the fan canopy to the ceiling bracket.
  8. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
  9. Test Operation: Test the fan and light functions using the remote control.

6. Maintenance

The Anderic Universal Remote and Receiver Kit requires minimal maintenance.

  • Battery Replacement: The remote control requires one 9V battery. When the remote's range decreases or it becomes unresponsive, it's time to replace the battery. To replace, slide open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote, remove the old battery, insert a new 9V battery, and close the cover.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the remote control and receiver (if accessible) with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.

7. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your Anderic remote and receiver kit, try the following troubleshooting steps:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Fan/Light does not respond to remote. No power to receiver; Incorrect dip switch settings; Dead battery in remote; Loose wiring connection.
  • Ensure power is on at the circuit breaker and wall switch.
  • Verify dip switch settings on both remote and receiver match exactly.
  • Replace the 9V battery in the remote.
  • Check all wiring connections inside the canopy for tightness.
Fan operates, but light does not. Light bulb issue; Incorrect light wiring; Light limit switch (if applicable).
  • Check if the light bulb is burned out or loose.
  • Verify the blue wire from the receiver is correctly connected to the fan's light wire.
  • Some fans have a light limit switch; ensure it is in the correct position.
Fan operates at wrong speed or inconsistently. Interference from other devices; Incorrect dip switch settings.
  • Change the dip switch settings on both the remote and receiver to a new, matching pattern.
  • Ensure no other remote controls in the vicinity are using the same frequency.
