Setup
1. Hydration Bladder Preparation

2. Vest Adjustment and Fit
The Vaporhowe vest is designed for an apparel-like, body-mapped fit. To achieve the best fit:
- Loosen all adjustable straps on the vest.
- Put on the vest and close the sternum straps.
- Adjust the sternum straps so they are approximately 5 to 7 inches apart, ensuring a comfortable fit across your chest.
- Tighten the side and shoulder straps until the vest fits snugly against your body without restricting breathing or movement. The vest should feel like a second skin, minimizing bounce during activity.

Operating Instructions
Hydration
The 1.8L hydration bladder is stored in a dedicated compartment on the back of the vest. Thread the hydration tube through the designated opening and secure the bite valve to one of the front straps using the magnetic clip for easy access while running.
Storage Pockets
The Vaporhowe vest features multiple pockets for organizing your essentials:
- Front Pockets: Designed to hold soft flasks up to 22oz and most smartphones (up to iPhone 7 Plus size). These provide quick access to hydration and communication devices.
- Stash Pockets: Various smaller pockets are available for gels, keys, small first-aid items, or other quick-access necessities.
- Rear Compartment: In addition to the bladder, the main rear compartment offers space for extra layers, larger items, or additional gear.

Maintenance
Cleaning the Vest
Hand wash the vest with mild soap and cold water. Do not bleach. Hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Do not iron or tumble dry. Regular cleaning helps maintain the fabric's breathability and extends the life of the vest.
Cleaning the Hydration Bladder
After each use, empty the bladder completely. Rinse the inside of the bladder and the tube with warm water. For thorough cleaning, use a bladder cleaning kit (not included) or a mixture of warm water and baking soda/lemon juice. Ensure the bladder is completely dry before storage to prevent mold and mildew. You can prop it open with a paper towel or a bladder drying rack.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Vest bounces during run | Straps are too loose; bladder not full or secured. | Adjust all straps for a snug, body-hugging fit. Ensure bladder is full and properly seated in its compartment. |
| Difficulty drawing water from bladder | Bite valve is closed; air in the tube; bladder is empty. | Ensure bite valve is open. Suck firmly to remove air. Refill bladder if empty. |
| Chafing or discomfort | Improper fit; material rubbing. | Re-adjust straps for a more comfortable fit. Consider wearing a technical base layer to prevent direct skin contact. |
| Bladder leaking | Cap not sealed; puncture; hose connection loose. | Ensure bladder cap is tightly sealed. Check for visible punctures. Verify hose is securely connected to the bladder. |
