Operating Instructions

The THE PROPHET DIGITAL DELAY pedal features intuitive controls for shaping your delay sound. Familiarize yourself with each control:

Controls:

  • TIME Knob: Controls the delay time, determining the interval between repeats.
  • MIX Knob: Adjusts the blend between your dry (unaffected) signal and the wet (delayed) signal. Turn clockwise for more delay effect.
  • REPEATS Knob: Controls the number of delay repetitions (feedback). Higher settings result in more repeats.
  • SUBDIVISION Switch: A three-way toggle switch that selects the delay subdivision:
    • 1/16: Sixteenth note delay.
    • 1/8: Eighth note delay.
    • 3/8: Dotted eighth note delay.
  • FOOTSWITCH: Engages or bypasses the effect. This pedal features True Bypass for preserving your guitar's tone when the effect is off.

Usage Tips:

  • For subtle ambiance, set the MIX knob to a lower position and REPEATS to a moderate level.
  • To achieve rhythmic delays, synchronize the TIME knob and SUBDIVISION switch with the tempo of your music.
  • Experiment with high REPEATS settings and the TIME knob to create self-oscillating, experimental sounds.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pedal:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal's exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the pedal in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Power Supply: Always use a compatible 9V DC, center-negative power supply. Incorrect power can damage the unit.
  • Connections: Periodically check all cable connections for wear and tear. Ensure jacks are free of dust and debris.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pedal, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Sound:
    • Check all cable connections (guitar to input, output to amp).
    • Ensure the power supply is correctly connected and functioning.
    • Verify the pedal is engaged (LED illuminated).
    • Test with different cables, guitar, and amplifier to isolate the problem.
  • Weak or Distorted Sound:
    • Check the MIX knob setting; ensure it's not set too low or too high, causing signal clipping.
    • Ensure your guitar's output and amplifier's input levels are appropriate.
    • Inspect cables for damage.
  • Unwanted Noise/Hum:
    • Use a high-quality, isolated power supply.
    • Ensure proper grounding of your equipment.
    • Keep the pedal away from power transformers or other sources of electromagnetic interference.

If problems persist, consult the warranty information for service options.
