5.1 Tools and Materials Required (Not Included)

5.2 Installation Steps

1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate and turn off the main water supply to your shower area. Open existing shower faucets to relieve pressure.
2. Remove Existing Shower Arm (if applicable): Unscrew the existing shower arm from the wall fitting. Clean any old sealant or debris from the wall pipe threads.
3. Prepare New Shower Arm: Apply plumber's tape clockwise around the threaded end of the new Kohler shower arm (the end that connects to the wall). Ensure several wraps for a watertight seal.
4. Install Flange: Slide the decorative flange over the shower arm, ensuring it faces the wall.
5. Attach Shower Arm to Wall: Carefully thread the shower arm into the 1/2-inch NPT wall fitting. Hand-tighten first, then use an adjustable wrench to tighten an additional 1/2 to 1 full turn until secure and properly oriented. Do not overtighten.
6. Position Flange: Slide the flange flush against the wall to cover the opening.
7. Install Showerhead and Handshower: Attach your desired showerhead to the top outlet and your handshower hose to the bottom outlet of the diverter. Apply plumber's tape to these connections as well.
8. Test for Leaks: Slowly turn the main water supply back on. Check all connections for leaks. If leaks occur, turn off water, tighten connections slightly, and re-test.

6. Operating Instructions

The 2-way diverter allows you to easily switch water flow between your main showerhead and a connected handshower.

• To use the Showerhead: Ensure the diverter handle is in the position that directs water upwards to the showerhead.
• To use the Handshower: Rotate the diverter handle to the position that directs water downwards to the handshower.
• To turn off water: Use your shower's main faucet handle to stop the water flow. The diverter only controls the direction of water, not the on/off function or temperature.

• Cleaning: Clean the polished chrome finish with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
• Spot Cleaning: For water spots, use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly with clean water, then dry with a soft cloth.
• Regular Inspection: Periodically check connections for any signs of leaks or corrosion.
