5. Installation Instructions

The American Standard 705B215.002 faucet features an integrated design where the sensor, solenoid valve, and electronics are enclosed within the spout, eliminating the need for a control box below the deck.

  1. Prepare the Installation Area: Turn off the hot and cold water supply valves under the sink. Clear the area under the sink for easy access.
  2. Remove Old Faucet (if applicable): Disconnect the water supply lines from the old faucet. Unscrew the mounting nuts and remove the old faucet from the sink or countertop. Clean the mounting surface.
  3. Install the New Faucet:
    • Place the new faucet through the single hole on the sink or countertop.
    • From underneath the sink, secure the faucet using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure the faucet is centered and tightened securely to prevent movement.
  4. Connect Water Supply Lines:
    • Connect the hot and cold inlet hoses (which include check valves and filter screens) to the corresponding hot and cold water supply lines. Hand-tighten first, then use an adjustable wrench for a snug fit. Do not overtighten.
    • Ensure the filter screens are properly seated to protect the solenoid valve.
  5. Connect Power Kit (Sold Separately): Connect the power kit according to its specific instructions. This faucet requires a separate power source.
  6. Test for Leaks: Slowly turn on the hot and cold water supply valves. Check all connections for leaks. Tighten any leaking connections as necessary.
  7. Flush the System: Allow water to run for a few minutes to flush out any debris from the lines.

6. Operating Instructions

Your Selectronic Faucet is designed for hygienic, touch-free operation.

  • Automatic Activation: Place your hands within the sensor's detection range (typically under the spout). The water will flow automatically.
  • Automatic Shut-off: Remove your hands from the sensor's range, and the water flow will stop automatically after a short delay.
  • Temperature Adjustment: This faucet features above-deck mixing. Use the handle or lever on the faucet (if present) to manually adjust the water temperature to your preference.
  • Sensor Programming: Refer to the separate power kit manual or American Standard's official website for detailed instructions on programming the multi-function sensor, if applicable.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the optimal performance and appearance of your faucet.

  • Cleaning the Faucet: Clean the chrome finish with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn spots, use a mild soap and water solution, then rinse thoroughly and dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or chemicals containing ammonia, bleach, or alcohol, as these can damage the finish.
  • Cleaning the Sensor: Gently wipe the sensor window with a soft, damp cloth to remove any dirt or residue that might interfere with its operation.
  • Cleaning Filter Screens: Periodically check and clean the filter screens located in the inlet hoses to prevent debris from affecting water flow or damaging the solenoid valve. Turn off water supply, disconnect hoses, remove and rinse screens, then reassemble.
  • Power Source: If using battery power (depending on power kit), replace batteries as recommended by the power kit manufacturer or when the low battery indicator (if present) activates.
