Setup
Powering the Unit
Your Axess PB2710 can be powered by either AC (wall outlet) or DC (batteries).
AC Power Operation:
- Ensure the unit's Mode Switch is in the OFF position.
- Insert the supplied AC power cord into the AC power input jack on the unit.
- Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet (120V AC, 60Hz).
- The unit is now ready for use with AC power.
Battery Operation:
For portable use, the unit requires 6 x 9-volt batteries (not included).
- Ensure the unit's Mode Switch is in the OFF position and disconnect the AC power cord.
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert 6 x 9-volt batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
- The unit is now ready for use with battery power. Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period.
Operating Instructions
CD Playback
- Slide the Mode Switch to the CD position.
- Open the top-loading CD compartment cover.
- Place a CD (CD, CD-R, or CD-RW) onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
- Close the CD compartment cover.
- The CD player will begin reading the disc, and the LED display will show the track number. Playback should start automatically.
- Use the PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, SKIP/SEARCH buttons (if present, common CD player controls) to control playback.
Radio Operation (AM/FM)
- Slide the Mode Switch to either the FM or AM position.
- For FM reception, extend the telescopic FM antenna fully. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in antenna, so no external adjustment is needed.
- Rotate the Tuning Dial to search for your desired radio station.
- Adjust the volume to your preferred listening level.
Using the Headphone Jack
- To listen privately, plug a standard 3.5mm stereo headphone jack into the headphone port on the unit.
- When headphones are connected, audio will be routed through the headphones, and the built-in speakers will be muted.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- CD Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Keep them clean and free of scratches. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe CDs from the center outwards.
