The Axess CKRD3803 is a versatile clock radio featuring a 1.2-inch red LED display, digital AM/FM radio, dual alarm settings, and a calendar function. It includes an Aux input jack for external audio devices and a battery backup system to maintain settings during power interruptions.

Setup

Power Connection:

  1. Uncoil the built-in power cord (pigtail antenna).
  2. Plug the power cord into a standard AC wall outlet (120V, 60Hz).
  3. The LED display will light up, indicating the unit is receiving power.

Battery Backup Installation:

For uninterrupted timekeeping during power outages, install backup batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries (not included), observing the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Batteries are for backup only and will not power the display or radio functions during a power outage. They only preserve time and alarm settings.

Operating Instructions

Setting the Time:

  1. Press and hold the TIME SET button until the hour digits begin to flash.
  2. Press the HOUR button repeatedly to adjust the hour. Observe the 'PM' indicator for correct AM/PM setting.
  3. Press the MINUTE button repeatedly to adjust the minutes.
  4. To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour (military) time format, press the 12/24H button while the time is flashing.
  5. Press the TIME SET button again to confirm and exit time setting mode.

Setting the Alarm (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2):

The CKRD3803 features two independent alarms.

  1. Press and hold the ALARM 1 SET (or ALARM 2 SET) button until the alarm hour digits begin to flash.
  2. Press the HOUR button to adjust the alarm hour. Observe the 'PM' indicator.
  3. Press the MINUTE button to adjust the alarm minutes.
  4. Press the ALARM 1 SET (or ALARM 2 SET) button again to confirm the time.
  5. Immediately after confirming the time, press the ALARM 1 MODE (or ALARM 2 MODE) button repeatedly to select the alarm source: BUZZER or RADIO. The corresponding indicator light will illuminate.
  6. To activate or deactivate an alarm, press the ALARM 1 ON/OFF (or ALARM 2 ON/OFF) button. The alarm indicator will light up when active.

Radio Operation:

  1. Press the RADIO ON/OFF button to turn the radio on.
  2. Press the AM/FM button to switch between AM and FM bands.
  3. Press the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to manually tune to a desired frequency.
  4. Press and hold TUNE + or TUNE - for automatic station scanning.
  5. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME + or VOLUME - buttons.
  6. To improve FM reception, extend the pigtail antenna fully. For AM reception, rotate the unit for best signal.
  7. Press the RADIO ON/OFF button again to turn the radio off.

Snooze Function:

When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence the alarm for approximately 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after this period.

Sleep Function:

To fall asleep to the radio, press the SLEEP button while the radio is playing. Repeatedly press the SLEEP button to cycle through sleep timer options (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, or OFF). The radio will automatically turn off after the selected time.

Display Dimmer:

Press the DIMMER button to adjust the brightness of the LED display between two levels (bright and dim).

Auxiliary Input:

Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX IN jack on the unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included). The audio from the external device will play through the clock radio's speaker.

If you encounter issues with your Axess CKRD3803, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
