Setup

Attaching the Head Strap

1. Select either the elastic or rubber head strap based on your preference and application.
2. Thread the strap through the designated slots on the headlamp bracket.
3. Adjust the strap to ensure a secure and comfortable fit on your head or helmet.

Installing/Replacing Lenses

The headlamp includes interchangeable red and green lenses for specific lighting needs.

1. Gently remove the existing clear lens cover from the headlamp.
2. Insert the desired red or green lens into the lens slot.
3. Ensure the lens is seated properly to maintain water resistance.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off and Mode Selection

The headlamp features High, Medium, and Low modes. The default operation is typically High-Medium-Low-Off with a single click for each mode change.

• To Turn On: Press the power button once. The headlamp will activate in the last used mode (if not programmed otherwise).
• To Change Modes: While the headlamp is on, press the power button repeatedly to cycle through High, Medium, and Low brightness settings.
• To Turn Off: Press the power button until the headlamp turns off, or hold the button for approximately 2 seconds from any mode.

Tilting Head

The headlamp features a 90-degree tilting head. Adjust the angle of the light beam by gently tilting the headlamp unit up or down to direct illumination where needed.

Charging

The ProTac HL USB headlamp is rechargeable via a USB port.

1. Locate the USB charging port on the headlamp. This port is protected by a rubber boot.
2. Gently lift the rubber boot to expose the USB port.
3. Connect the provided 120V AC USB Adapter (Type A) to a power outlet.
4. Connect the USB charging cable from the adapter to the headlamp's USB port.
5. An indicator light will show the charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).
6. Ensure the rubber boot is securely closed after charging to maintain water resistance.

The headlamp can also accept multiple battery sources as a backup, ensuring continuous power.

TEN-TAP Programming

The TEN-TAP Programming allows users to select from three different operating programs to customize the mode sequence.

Available Programs:

• Program 1 (Default): High > Medium > Low (1 click for High, 2 for Medium, 3 for Low)
• Program 2: High Only (1 click for High)
• Program 3: Low > Medium > High (1 click for Low, 2 for Medium, 3 for High)

To Reprogram:

1. Ensure the headlamp is OFF.
2. Rapidly tap the power button 9 times (within 0.4 seconds per tap).
3. On the 10th tap, hold the button down. The light will cycle through the available programs.
4. Release the button when the desired program is indicated by the number of flashes (1 flash for Program 1, 2 flashes for Program 2, 3 flashes for Program 3).
5. The headlamp is now programmed to the selected mode sequence.

Battery Information

The Streamlight ProTac HL USB Headlamp uses a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. It can also operate with 2 CR123A batteries as an alternative power source.

• Battery Type: Lithium Ion (rechargeable) or 2 CR123A (non-rechargeable, for backup)
• Voltage: 3.6 Volts (Lithium Ion)
• Replacement: When replacing CR123A batteries, ensure they are of the same type and from a reputable manufacturer. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
• Disposal: Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Clean the headlamp with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Water Resistance: The headlamp is IPX4 water resistant. Ensure the USB port's rubber boot is securely closed to maintain this rating. Avoid submerging the headlamp in water.
• Storage: Store the headlamp in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged.
