Setup
1. Speaker Placement
Optimal speaker placement is crucial for a true 5.1 surround sound experience.
- Center Speaker: Place directly above or below your TV/monitor, centered.
- Front Left & Right Speakers: Position these speakers to the left and right of your TV, at an equal distance from the listening position, forming an equilateral triangle with the listener.
- Rear Left & Right Speakers: Place these speakers to the sides or slightly behind the main listening position, facing inwards.
- Subwoofer: The subwoofer can be placed anywhere in the room, but typically performs well in a corner or near a wall to enhance bass response. Experiment with placement for the best sound.
2. Connecting the Speakers
Connect the satellite and center speakers to the corresponding outputs on the rear panel of the active subwoofer using the provided speaker cables. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for each connection.
3. Connecting Audio Sources
The Areal 652 offers multiple input options:
- DVD Audio Input (5.1 RCA): For connecting DVD or Blu-ray players with 5.1 analog audio outputs. Use the three A/V cables provided to connect the corresponding FL/FR, CEN/SW, and SL/SR outputs from your source device to the subwoofer's DVD AUDIO INPUT.
- AUX Audio Input (Stereo RCA): For connecting stereo audio sources like TVs, CD players, or MP3 players. Use the AUX cable to connect the stereo output of your device to the AUX AUDIO INPUT on the subwoofer.
- USB Port: Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 files into the USB port on the front panel.
- SD Card Slot: Insert an SD memory card containing MP3 files into the SD slot on the front panel.
- Bluetooth: For wireless audio streaming from smartphones, tablets, or laptops.
4. Power Connection
After all audio connections are made, connect the power cord to the AC IN port on the subwoofer's rear panel and then plug it into a suitable wall outlet. Turn the POWER SWITCH to the "ON" position.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Use the power button on the remote control or the power switch on the subwoofer's rear panel.
- Volume Control: Adjust the master volume using the "VOL+" and "VOL-" buttons on the remote control or the MASTER VOLUME knob on the subwoofer.
- Input Selection: Press the "INPUT SET" button on the subwoofer or the corresponding input buttons (DVD, AUX, USB, SD, BT) on the remote control to select your desired audio source.
2. Bluetooth Operation
- Press the "BT" button on the remote control or cycle through inputs on the subwoofer until "BT" mode is selected. The display will indicate Bluetooth mode.
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
- Search for available devices and select "Auna Areal 652" (or similar name) from the list.
