3. Safety Information
To ensure safe operation and prevent damage to the device or injury to yourself, please observe the following safety precautions:
- Do not expose the device to rain, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to severe impacts.
- Use only the provided power adapter and car charger. Using unauthorized accessories may damage the device and void the warranty.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Keep the device away from strong magnetic fields.
- Ensure proper ventilation when operating or charging the device.
- Disconnect the power adapter during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the device's internal Li-Ion battery. Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 12V input port on the device and plug it into a wall outlet. The "Charge" indicator light will illuminate. A full charge typically takes approximately 2-3 hours. The device can operate for up to 2 hours on a full charge.
Alternatively, use the car charger cable to charge the device in a vehicle.
4.2 Initial Power On
Press and hold the Power button located on the front panel to turn on the device. The main menu will appear on the LCD screen.
4.3 Connecting to an LNB
Connect the satellite dish's LNB cable to the F-type connector on the top of the WS-6960 device. Ensure the connection is secure.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Navigating the Menu
Use the directional arrow buttons (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT) to navigate through menu options. Press the OK button to confirm a selection or enter a submenu. Press EXIT to return to the previous menu or the main screen.

5.2 Satellite Find Function
This is the primary function for aligning your satellite dish.
- From the main menu, select "Satellite Find" and press OK.
- In the Satellite Find setup screen, you can configure parameters such as LNB Type, LNB Frequency, Transponder, Symbol Rate, Polarization, 22KHz Tone, and DiSEqC Mode. Use the arrow keys to adjust these settings according to your satellite provider's specifications.
- Once settings are configured, the device will display signal strength and quality bars. Adjust your satellite dish's azimuth and elevation until the signal strength and quality are maximized. The device will provide an audible tone when a signal is locked.
- The screen will also display BER, S/N, PWR, and MER values for detailed analysis.

5.3 Transponder List
To view or edit transponder information:
- From the main menu, navigate to the appropriate section (often within "Satellite Find" or "Channel" settings) to access the transponder list.
- The list displays frequency, symbol rate, polarization, and RF info. You can add, edit, or delete transponders using the corresponding function buttons (e.g., F1 for Add, F2 for Edit, F3 for Delete).
- Press SCAN to initiate a scan for channels on the selected transponder.

5.4 System Settings
Customize device settings such as language, video resolution, and time zone.
- From the main menu, select "System Setting" and press OK.
- Adjust options like OSD Language, Country, Aspect Ratio, Video Resolution (e.g., 720P_50), HDMI Audio, Time Zone, System Lock, and PWR Unit.
- Press EXIT to save changes and return.

5.5 Software Upgrade
The device's software can be upgraded via the USB port.
- Download the latest firmware file from the official SHYSKY support website to a USB flash drive.
- Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the WS-6960.
- Navigate to the "USB Device" or "System Setting" menu and select the software upgrade option.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the upgrade. Do not power off the device during the upgrade process.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing the device for an extended period, charge it to approximately 50% and recharge every few months.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 No Power
- Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the power adapter and check if the "Charge" indicator lights up.
- Verify the power adapter is correctly plugged into a working outlet.
- Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds to ensure it's not a brief press.
7.2 No Signal or Weak Signal
- Check all cable connections between the LNB and the device. Ensure they are secure.
- Verify that the LNB Type, LNB Frequency, Transponder, and Polarization settings in the "Satellite Find" menu match your satellite provider's specifications.
- Ensure the satellite dish is correctly aimed at the satellite. Use the signal strength and quality meters to fine-tune the dish's position.
- Check for any obstructions between the satellite dish and the satellite.
- Inspect the LNB for damage or corrosion.
7.3 Screen Freezes or Device Unresponsive
- Press and hold the Power button for approximately 10 seconds to force a shutdown. Then, restart the device.
- If the issue persists, try performing a factory reset (if available in the System Settings menu). Note that this will erase all user-defined settings.
