Operating Instructions

This appliance is designed to bake 6 mini pies or quiches simultaneously.

  1. Prepare Dough: Use the included dough cutting circle to cut out pastry bases and tops. For the base, press the dough into the larger side of the cutter. For the top, use the smaller side.
  2. Place Dough: Once the unit is pre-heated, carefully place the larger dough circles into each of the six cooking wells. Gently press them to conform to the shape of the well.
  3. Add Filling: Fill each dough-lined well with your desired sweet or savory filling. Do not overfill.
  4. Cover with Top Crust: Place the smaller dough circles over the filling in each well. Gently press the edges of the top and bottom crusts together to seal.
  5. Bake: Close the lid. The pies will cook in approximately 6-8 minutes, depending on the type of dough and filling used. Cooking time may vary. Monitor the pies for desired golden-brown color.
  6. Remove Pies: Once baked, carefully open the lid. Use a heat-resistant plastic or wooden utensil to gently lift the mini pies from the non-stick wells. Avoid using metal utensils, which can damage the non-stick coating.
  7. Cool: Allow the mini pies to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your appliance.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Clean Cooking Plates: The non-stick coating allows for easy cleanup. Wipe the cooking plates with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn residue, a small amount of mild dish soap can be used. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can damage the non-stick surface.
  3. Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Storage: Once clean and dry, store the Mini Pie & Quiche Maker in a cool, dry place. Its compact design allows for easy storage in cabinets.

Troubleshooting

  • Unit does not heat: Ensure the unit is properly plugged into a functioning electrical outlet.
  • Pies not cooking evenly: Ensure the dough is spread evenly in the wells and the filling is distributed uniformly. Cooking times can vary based on ingredients.
  • Pies sticking: Ensure the non-stick surface is clean and free of residue. A very light application of cooking spray can be used if needed, though typically not required with the non-stick coating.
  • No On/Off Switch or Temperature Control: This model is designed for direct operation upon plugging in and heats to a preset temperature. Unplug the unit to turn it off.
