Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Celestron AstroFi 5-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. Setup and Assembly

1. Set up the Tripod: Extend the tripod legs to a suitable height and secure them. Place the accessory tray onto the central spreader bar.
2. Attach the Mount: Secure the single fork arm alt-azimuth mount to the tripod head using the provided screw. Ensure it is stable.
3. Install the Optical Tube: Carefully attach the Astro Fi 5-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube to the mount. Ensure it is securely fastened.
4. Install the Finderscope: Slide the StarPointer finderscope into its bracket on the optical tube and tighten the retaining screw.
5. Insert the Star Diagonal and Eyepiece: Insert the 90-degree star diagonal into the telescope's visual back. Then, insert either the 25mm or 10mm Kellner eyepiece into the star diagonal.
6. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the mount and insert 8 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.

Operating Your Telescope

Powering On and WiFi Connection

Press the power button on the mount to turn on the telescope. The integrated WiFi will activate. On your smartphone or tablet, connect to the telescope's WiFi network (e.g., "Celestron_AstroFi_XXXX").

Using the SkyPortal App

The Celestron AstroFi telescope is controlled wirelessly via the free Celestron SkyPortal app, available for iOS and Android devices. Download and install the app from your device's app store.

1. Launch SkyPortal: Open the app and ensure your device is connected to the telescope's WiFi.
2. SkyAlign Technology: The app utilizes Celestron's patented SkyAlign technology for quick and easy alignment. Follow the on-screen prompts to select three bright stars or celestial objects. The telescope will automatically identify and align itself.
3. Object Selection and GoTo: Once aligned, you can browse the SkyPortal database for thousands of celestial objects. Select an object, and the telescope will automatically slew (move) to center it in your eyepiece.
4. Tracking: The telescope will automatically track objects as they move across the night sky, keeping them centered in your field of view.

Optical Performance
