1. Important Safety Information
Read all instructions before using the appliance. Follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury.
- DANGER: Risk of child entrapment. Before you throw away your old refrigerator or freezer: take off the doors, leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.
- Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
- Ensure the appliance is properly grounded.
- Do not use extension cords.
- Unplug the appliance before cleaning or making repairs.
2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Unpacking
Remove all packaging materials, including foam base and adhesive tape. Inspect the refrigerator for any damage. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.
2.2 Location
Place the refrigerator on a flat, solid surface strong enough to support it when fully loaded. Allow at least 5 inches (12.7 cm) of space between the back and sides of the refrigerator and any adjacent walls to ensure proper air circulation. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
2.3 Electrical Connection
Ensure the electrical outlet is properly grounded and provides the correct voltage (115V AC, 60 Hz). Do not use an adapter or extension cord. Plug the refrigerator directly into a dedicated wall outlet.
2.4 Leveling
Adjust the leveling legs at the bottom front of the refrigerator to ensure it is level. A level appliance operates more efficiently and prevents door alignment issues.

4.1 Cleaning
Always unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. Clean the interior and exterior with a mild detergent and warm water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals. Wipe dry thoroughly.
4.2 Defrosting
This refrigerator features a manual defrost system. When frost accumulates to a thickness of 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) or more in the freezer compartment, it should be defrosted. To defrost:
- Unplug the refrigerator.
- Remove all food items from the freezer and refrigerator compartments.
- Leave the door open to allow frost to melt. Place towels at the bottom to absorb water.
- Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior.
- Plug the refrigerator back in and return food items.
5. Troubleshooting
Before contacting service, review the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerator does not operate | Not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped; temperature control set to "0" (off). | Ensure plug is secure; reset circuit breaker; adjust temperature control. |
| Temperature is too warm | Door opened too frequently; warm food placed inside; poor air circulation; temperature control set too low. | Minimize door openings; allow hot food to cool before storing; ensure proper clearance around unit; adjust thermostat to a colder setting. |
| Excessive frost buildup | Door not closed properly; high humidity; frequent door openings. | Check door seal; ensure door is fully closed; defrost as needed. |
| Unusual noises | Appliance not level; items rattling inside; normal compressor operation. | Level the unit; rearrange items; gurgling/hissing sounds are normal. |
