2. Setup

The NT-1698W barcode scanner offers two primary connection methods: 2.4G wireless via a USB dongle and wired via a USB cable. Both methods are plug-and-play, requiring no complex driver installations.

2.1. 2.4G Wireless Connection

To connect wirelessly, simply insert the mini USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer (Windows XP/7/8/10, Mac OS, or Linux). The scanner will automatically pair with the receiver, indicated by a blue light on the scanner. This connection provides a transmission range of up to 100m (330ft) in barrier-free environments and 30m (98ft) indoors with obstacles.

2.2. USB Wired Connection

For a wired connection, use the provided USB cable to connect the scanner directly to your computer. In this mode, the scanner can operate and charge simultaneously. This method supports USB HID-KBW and USB COM Port Emulation modes.
