1. Introduction

The Streamlight 88066 ProTac Rail Mount HL-X is a high-lumen, multi-fuel weapon-mounted light designed for rapid and secure attachment to MIL-STD-1913 rails on rifles, carbines, and submachine guns. 3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X operates on either two CR123A lithium batteries or one Streamlight rechargeable SL-B26 battery. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.

1. Unscrew the tail cap from the main body of the light.
2. Insert two CR123A batteries (positive end first) or one SL-B26 battery into the battery compartment.
3. Replace the tail cap, ensuring it is tightened securely to maintain water resistance.

3.2. Mounting the Light

The integrated rail clamp allows for easy attachment to MIL-STD-1913 rails without requiring additional tools. The light comes with various keys to ensure compatibility with different rail systems.

1. Loosen the thumbscrew on the rail clamp.
2. Align the light's rail clamp with the desired slot on your MIL-STD-1913 rail.
3. Push the light onto the rail until it seats firmly.
4. Tighten the thumbscrew by hand until secure. For extra security, a flat-head wrench can be used with the provided groove.

3.3. Attaching the Remote Pressure Switch

The remote pressure switch provides momentary and constant-on operation. Use the included retaining clips and mounting hardware to secure the switch and cable to your rail system.

1. Replace the standard tail cap with the remote switch tail cap.
2. Position the remote pressure switch on your rail in a comfortable and accessible location.
3. Use the provided clips and screws to secure the pressure switch and route the cable along the rail, ensuring it does not interfere with weapon operation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. TEN-TAP Programming

The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X features TEN-TAP Programming, allowing you to select from three user-selectable programs:

• Program 1 (Factory Default): High / Strobe
• Program 2: High Only
• Program 3: Low / High

To change programs:

1. Ensure the light is in the 'off' position.
2. Tap the switch rapidly 9 times (within 0.4 seconds per tap).
3. On the 10th tap, hold the switch down. The light will cycle through the available programs.
4. Release the switch when the desired program is active. The light will flash to confirm the new program.

4.2. Switch Operation (Tail Switch & Remote Switch)

Both the standard push-button tail switch and the remote pressure switch offer similar functionality based on the selected TEN-TAP program.

• Momentary On: Press and hold the switch. Release to turn off.
• Constant On: Press the switch fully and release quickly. Press again to turn off.
• Strobe: Double-tap the switch quickly (if in Program 1).
