4. Assembly Instructions
Assembly is required for this product. It is recommended to have two people for assembly. Please follow the steps below carefully:
- Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully unpack all components and lay them out on a soft, clean surface to prevent damage. Refer to the included assembly diagram to identify each part and ensure all hardware is present.
- Assemble the Base Sections: Begin by assembling the main frame of the two seating elements. Connect the frame pieces using the provided screws and tools. Do not fully tighten screws until all parts are aligned.
- Attach the Rattan Weave: Secure the polyrattan panels to the assembled frame. Ensure the weave is properly aligned and secured to prevent loosening.
- Install Adjustable Feet: Screw the adjustable feet onto the bottom of each seating element. Adjust them to ensure the sun island is level and stable on your chosen surface.
- Assemble the Sun Canopy Frame: Construct the frame for the foldable sun canopy. This typically involves connecting several curved metal rods.
- Attach the Canopy Fabric: Slide or attach the canopy fabric onto its frame. Ensure it is taut and securely fastened.
- Mount the Canopy to the Sun Island: Attach the assembled sun canopy to the main sun island structure. Ensure it can smoothly extend and retract.
- Place Cushions: Position the seat cushions and throw pillows onto the sun island. The cushions are designed for comfort and can be arranged as desired.
- Final Tightening: Once all components are in place and aligned, carefully tighten all screws. Avoid overtightening to prevent stripping or damaging the material.

5. Operating Instructions
Using the Foldable Sun Canopy
The sun island features a convenient foldable sun canopy for adjustable shade.
- To Extend the Canopy: Gently pull the canopy forward from its folded position until it is fully extended and provides the desired shade. Ensure the support arms are locked into place if applicable.
- To Retract the Canopy: Push the canopy backward towards the rear of the sun island until it folds neatly. Secure it in the retracted position using any provided straps or fasteners.
Important: Always retract the sun canopy during strong winds, heavy rain, or when not in use for extended periods to prevent damage and prolong its lifespan.

Adjusting the Feet
The sun island is equipped with adjustable feet to ensure stability on various surfaces.
- To adjust, simply twist the bottom part of each foot clockwise or counter-clockwise to raise or lower that corner of the sun island until it is level and stable.

6. Care and Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your Outsunny Sun Island.
- Rattan Frame: Clean the synthetic rattan with a soft cloth, mild soap, and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Cushions: The cushion covers are removable and washable. Follow the care instructions on the label, typically machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and air dry. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Store cushions indoors during inclement weather or extended periods of non-use.
- Metal Frame: The powder-coated steel frame is rust-resistant. Clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Inspect regularly for any signs of rust or damage, and touch up with appropriate paint if necessary.
- Sun Canopy: Clean the canopy fabric with a soft brush and mild soapy water. Rinse well and allow to air dry completely before folding or storing.
- Storage: During winter months or prolonged periods of non-use, it is recommended to store the sun island in a dry, protected area or cover it with a suitable outdoor furniture cover.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Difficulty during assembly (e.g., holes not aligning) | Parts mislabeled, holes obstructed by rattan weave, screws overtightened prematurely. | Ensure all screws are only hand-tightened until all parts are loosely assembled. Gently clear any rattan weave obstructing screw holes. Refer to the assembly diagram carefully. It is recommended to assemble with two people. |
| Cushions slide easily | Smooth surface of the rattan and cushion covers. | Consider placing an anti-slip mat (e.g., rug gripper) underneath the cushions. Some users find connecting cushion zippers with a cable tie helps keep them together. |
| Sun island is wobbly or unstable | Uneven ground, adjustable feet not properly set. | Adjust the height of each foot individually until the sun island is stable on the surface. Ensure all assembly screws are securely tightened. |
| Canopy does not extend/retract smoothly | Frame misalignment, fabric snagging. | Check the canopy frame for any bends or misalignments. Ensure the fabric is not caught in the mechanism. Lubricate moving parts if necessary with a silicone spray. |
