4. Setup

4.1 Attaching the Blade

1. Ensure the hot knife is unplugged and completely cool.
2. Using the provided hex wrench, loosen the two holding screws on the blade holder at the front of the tool.
3. Carefully insert the desired blade (4" or 6") into the slots of the blade holder. Ensure the blade is fully seated.
4. Tighten the holding screws firmly with the hex wrench to secure the blade. Ensure a good electrical contact.

5.1 Temperature Control

5.2 Cutting Procedure

1. Place the material to be cut on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

3. Press the spring-loaded trigger to activate the heating element. The blade will heat up rapidly (within seconds).
4. Once the blade is hot, gently press it against the material along your desired cutting line. The hot knife should glide through the material with minimal resistance.
5. Maintain a steady, even pressure and speed for a clean cut. Avoid forcing the blade, as this can lead to uneven cuts or damage to the blade.
6. Release the trigger when the cut is complete or if the blade starts to smoke excessively.
7. For continuous cutting, you may need to periodically release and press the trigger to maintain optimal blade temperature.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Blade

After each use, allow the blade to cool slightly but remain warm. Use the provided cleaning brush to gently remove any melted foam residue from the blade. For stubborn residue, a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cloth can be used once the blade is completely cool and unplugged.

6.2 Storage

Always store the hot knife and its accessories in the heavy-duty molded plastic case when not in use. Ensure the blade is cool and properly secured or removed before storage.

• Blade not heating: Check if the power cord is securely plugged in. Ensure the blade is properly installed and the holding screws are tightened to ensure good electrical contact. Verify the temperature control knob is not set to the lowest (off) position.
