Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the turntable and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Placement: Place the turntable on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and strong vibrations.
3. Dust Cover Installation: Attach the provided dust cover to the hinges at the rear of the turntable. This protects the platter and stylus from dust when not in use.
4. Power Connection: Connect the DC power adapter to the DC 12V input port on the rear of the turntable (refer to Figure 3). Plug the adapter into a suitable wall outlet.
5. External Speaker Connection (Optional): If you wish to use external speakers, connect an RCA audio cable (not included) from the RCA L/R output ports on the rear of the turntable (refer to Figure 3) to the corresponding audio input on your amplifier or active speakers.
6. Counterweight Adjustment: The turntable features an adjustable counterweight. This allows for fine-tuning of the stylus pressure for optimal sound quality and to prevent damage to your records. Consult the specific instructions for your cartridge type for the recommended tracking force. Generally, you will balance the tonearm until it floats freely, then rotate the counterweight to the recommended tracking force.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On: Flip the power switch on the rear panel to the 'ON' position (refer to Figure 3).
2. Record Placement: Place a vinyl record onto the turntable platter. If playing a 7-inch single, place the 45 RPM adapter onto the spindle first.
3. Speed Selection: Select the appropriate playback speed (33, 45, or 78 RPM) using the speed selector switch, usually located near the platter. Ensure the selected speed matches the record you are playing.
4. Start Playback:
   • Gently lift the tonearm using the cueing lever.
   • Move the tonearm over the desired starting groove of the record.
   • Slowly lower the tonearm using the cueing lever. The stylus will make contact with the record, and playback will begin.
5. Volume Adjustment: Adjust the volume using the volume knob on the turntable or your connected external audio system.
6. Auto-Stop Function: The LS-50WD features an auto-stop function that automatically stops the platter rotation when the tonearm reaches the end of a record. This helps prevent unnecessary wear on the stylus and record.
7. Stopping Playback:
   • Lift the tonearm using the cueing lever.
   • Return the tonearm to its rest position.
   • Lower the cueing lever to secure the tonearm.
8. USB Recording (Digitization):
   • Connect the turntable's USB port (refer to Figure 3) to your computer using a USB cable (not included).
   • Install appropriate audio recording software on your computer (e.g., Audacity, available online).
   • Follow the software's instructions to select the turntable as the input device and begin recording your vinyl playback.
9. Power Off: When finished, flip the power switch on the rear panel to the 'OFF' position.

Maintenance

• Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the turntable's surface with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
• Dust Cover: Clean the dust cover with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals that may scratch or cloud the plastic.
• Stylus Care: The stylus (needle) is a delicate component. Clean it periodically using a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning, brushing gently from back to front. Replace the stylus when signs of wear are visible (e.g., distorted sound, skipping).
• Record Care: Keep your records clean and free of dust to prolong their life and the life of your stylus. Store records vertically in their sleeves.
