Introduction

The YakAttack CommandStand is a versatile kayak accessory designed to provide stand-up support and a rigging station for your kayak. It features an innovative folding frame for easy transport and deck storage, adjustable width to fit most kayak models, and modular accessory mounts. Constructed from anodized aluminum, UV-stable polymers, and stainless steel hardware, it is built for tough conditions.

What's in the Box

Your YakAttack CommandStand package includes the following components:

Setup and Installation

The CommandStand is designed for tool-free deployment and can be mounted to either factory-installed gear tracks or directly to flat deck surfaces.

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all pieces from the packaging.
2. Attach Track Adapters: If using gear tracks, slide the track adapters into your kayak's tracks. Hand-tighten the knobs to secure them in the desired position.
3. Assemble Support Poles: Connect the lower support poles to the track adapters. Ensure the pin-and-tether quick-release mechanism is engaged to secure them.
4. Connect Crossbar: Attach the adjustable crossbar to the top of the support poles. The crossbar can be adjusted up to 35 inches wide to fit your kayak. Secure with the pins.
5. Install Accessories: Attach the RotoGrip Paddle Holders and MightyMount Bar Clamps to the crossbar or support poles as desired. These allow for mounting additional accessories like rod holders or camera mounts.

Operating Instructions

The CommandStand offers two primary modes: stand-up support and storage mode.

• Stand-Up Support Mode: Once installed and secured, the CommandStand provides a stable bar to assist in standing and maintaining balance while fishing or paddling.
• Storage Mode: For easy transport or when not in use, the CommandStand features a folding frame. Loosen the quick-release pins on the support poles to fold the frame flat onto the kayak deck or break it down for compact storage.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your YakAttack CommandStand, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Rinse After Use: After each use, especially in saltwater environments, rinse the CommandStand thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and debris.
• Inspect Components: Regularly check all screws, pins, and clamps for tightness and wear. Replace any damaged or worn parts immediately.
• Lubrication: Apply a marine-grade lubricant to moving parts and threaded connections periodically to prevent corrosion and ensure smooth operation.
• Storage: Store the CommandStand in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use to prevent UV degradation of polymer components.

Troubleshooting

• Instability/Wobble: Ensure all mounting hardware (track adapters, clamps, pins) is fully tightened. Verify that the support poles are correctly seated and the quick-release pins are securely engaged.
• Difficulty Adjusting: If the crossbar or poles are stiff, apply a small amount of marine-grade lubricant to the adjustment points.
• Lost Pins/Hardware: Contact YakAttack customer support for replacement parts.
