Setup

1. Battery Installation

The remote control requires two AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Press down on the tab and slide the cover off in the direction of the arrow.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

2. Initial Use

This remote control is pre-programmed and does not require any additional setup or programming. Once batteries are installed, it is ready for immediate use with compatible Apex digital TV tuner converter boxes (DT150, DT250, DT250A, DT502A, DT502).

Operating Instructions

Point the remote control directly at the Apex digital TV tuner converter box. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the converter box's infrared receiver.

Key Functions:

• POWER: Turns the converter box on or off.
• CH +/-: Changes the channel up or down.
• VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume level.
• MUTE: Silences the audio output.

• EXIT: Exits the current menu or screen.

• GUIDE: Opens the electronic program guide.
• INPUT/SOURCE: Switches between input sources on the converter box.
• Number Buttons (0-9): Directly enters channel numbers.
• Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right, OK): Used to navigate menus and confirm selections.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, sprays, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Battery Replacement:

Replace batteries when the remote control's response becomes inconsistent or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Storage:

If the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage, which can cause damage to the device.

Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Check if the batteries are correctly installed with the correct polarity.

• Interference:
