Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Audster FK-54 keyboard for first use.

  1. Power Supply:
    • Connect the DC 9V power adapter (not included) to the keyboard's power input jack and a suitable wall outlet.
    • Alternatively, insert 6 "AA" batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the underside of the keyboard, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. Microphone Connection:

    Plug the included microphone into the designated microphone input jack on the keyboard.

  3. Speaker Output:

    The keyboard has built-in speakers. For external audio output or headphones, use the 3.5mm jack.

  4. Placement:

    Place the keyboard on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

    • Rhumba, Samba, Tango, Beguine, Pops, Latin, March Polka, Disco.
  • Percussions: Access 8 different percussion sounds for rhythmic accompaniment.
  • Demonstration Songs: Play one of the 8 built-in demonstration songs to hear the keyboard's capabilities.

Advanced Functions

  • Tempo Control: Adjust the speed of rhythms and demonstration songs.
  • Single Finger / Fingered Chord: Utilize these modes for simplified chord playing. Single Finger allows playing chords with one finger, while Fingered Chord recognizes full chord shapes.
  • Fill-In: Add short rhythmic variations to your chosen style.
  • Style Programming Function: Create and store your own rhythmic patterns. Refer to the keyboard's display and specific buttons for detailed programming steps.
  • One Key / Ensemble / Special Effect: These functions offer various learning aids and sound modifications. "One Key" typically assists in learning songs by waiting for the correct note, "Ensemble" might add layers to the sound, and "Special Effect" provides unique audio enhancements.

Maintenance

Proper care will extend the life of your electronic keyboard.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the keyboard. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water and a mild soap, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. If storing for an extended period, remove batteries to prevent leakage.
