2. Safety Information
- Always disconnect the power supply from the wall outlet before performing any installation or maintenance inside the PC case.

5. Setup and Installation
5.1 Preparing the Case
- Remove Side Panels: Carefully remove the tempered glass side panel by unscrewing the thumbscrews. Place it on a soft, flat surface to prevent scratches or damage. Remove the steel side panel on the opposite side.
- Accessory Box: Locate the accessory box inside the case, which contains all necessary screws and mounting hardware.
5.2 Motherboard Installation
- Install Standoffs: Ensure the correct motherboard standoffs are installed for your motherboard form factor (ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX, E-ATX). The case comes with pre-installed standoffs for ATX.
- Install I/O Shield: Snap your motherboard's I/O shield into the rear I/O cutout.
- Mount Motherboard: Carefully place your motherboard onto the standoffs, aligning the screw holes. Secure it with the provided motherboard screws.
5.3 Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation
- Position PSU: Slide the PSU into the dedicated compartment at the bottom rear of the case.
- Secure PSU: Align the PSU with the screw holes at the rear of the case and secure it with the provided PSU screws.
- Cable Routing: Route PSU cables through the cutouts in the PSU shroud to the motherboard and other components.
5.4 Storage Device Installation
5.4.1 2.5" SSD Installation
- Attach SSD to Bracket: Secure your 2.5" SSD to one of the provided Drop-N-Lock SSD brackets using the small screws.
- Mount Bracket: Align the bracket with the mounting points on the rear of the motherboard tray and slide it into place until it locks.
5.4.2 3.5" HDD Installation
The case features an innovative modular HDD system. To install 3.5" HDDs, you will need the optional PH-HDDKT_02 HDD brackets (sold separately).
- Install HDD Bracket: If you have the optional brackets, secure your 3.5" HDD to the bracket.
- Slide into Bay: Slide the HDD with its bracket into the designated HDD bays located under the PSU shroud.
5.5 Graphics Card (GPU) Installation
- Remove PCIe Slot Covers: Remove the necessary PCIe slot covers from the rear of the case.
- Insert GPU: Carefully insert your graphics card into the appropriate PCIe slot on the motherboard.
- Secure GPU: Secure the graphics card to the case with screws.
5.6 Cable Management
Utilize the pre-installed Phanteks cable ties and routing channels behind the motherboard tray to organize and secure all cables. This improves airflow and aesthetics.
5.7 RGB LED Strip Installation
The included 300mm RGB LED strip is magnetic. Attach it to any metallic surface inside the case. Connect it to the integrated RGB controller or a compatible motherboard header if desired.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On
After completing all installations and securing the side panels, connect your PC to a power outlet and press the power button on the front I/O panel.
6.2 RGB Lighting Control
The front I/O panel includes a dedicated LED control button. Press this button to cycle through the 10 available RGB colors for the integrated downlight and power light. If the included RGB strip is connected to the case's controller, it will synchronize with these effects.
6.3 Fan Speed Control
The front I/O panel also features a 3-speed fan controller. Use this button to adjust the speed of the connected case fans to Low, Medium, or High, balancing cooling performance and noise levels.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Dust Filter Cleaning
The Phanteks Eclipse P400S includes magnetic dust filters on the top, front, and bottom. Regularly remove and clean these filters to maintain optimal airflow and prevent dust buildup inside your PC.
- Gently pull to detach the magnetic dust filters.
- Clean the filters using compressed air or by rinsing them with water. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
7.2 Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior surfaces of the case with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or tempered glass.
8. Troubleshooting
- PC Not Powering On:
- Check all power connections, including the PSU to the wall, the 24-pin ATX connector, and the 8-pin CPU power connector on the motherboard.
- Ensure the power button cable from the case is correctly connected to the motherboard's front panel header.
- Verify the PSU switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Fans Not Spinning / RGB Not Lighting Up:
- Check fan and RGB connections to the motherboard or the case's integrated controller.
- Ensure the SATA power connector for the fan/RGB controller is connected to the PSU.
- Poor Airflow / High Temperatures:
- Clean all dust filters.
- Ensure case fans are oriented correctly for optimal airflow (intake at front, exhaust at rear/top).
