2.2 Installation

Choose a mounting location that does not obstruct your view or interfere with airbag deployment. The unit can be mounted on the dashboard or using the sun visor clip.

3.5 Data Updates

  • Free Monthly Updates: Download data from the COMTEC website to a microSDHC card and update the unit.
  • Wireless LAN Automatic Updates (Optional): With the optional wireless LAN built-in SDHC card (WSD8G-803V), the unit can automatically download and update data for free via a smartphone's Wi-Fi connection.
  • Smartphone Settings: Use your smartphone to adjust the radar detector's settings when connected via wireless LAN.

3.6 Enforcement Sharing System

This system allows COMTEC radar detector users to share real-time enforcement information.

  • When your unit detects a radar wave from enforcement, the position information is uploaded to the COMTEC server.
