1. Important Safety Information
Read this instruction manual carefully before operating the HECHT 3011 submersible pump. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Always disconnect the pump from the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
- Ensure the power supply matches the voltage specified on the pump's rating label.
- Do not operate the pump with a damaged power cord or plug.
- Never lift or carry the pump by its power cord.
- This pump is designed for pumping water. Do not use it for flammable, corrosive, or explosive liquids.
- Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the operating pump.
- Ensure the pump is fully submerged during operation to prevent overheating.
2. Product Overview
The HECHT 3011 is a versatile electric submersible pump designed for various water transfer tasks, including draining basements, ponds, or construction sites. It features a robust stainless steel housing and can handle dirty water with solids up to 35 mm.

Components:
- Pump Body: Stainless steel housing for durability.
- Motor: 1100 W electric motor.
- Float Switch: Automatically turns the pump on/off based on water level.
- Discharge Outlet: Connection point for hoses.
- Power Cable: 10-meter cable for power supply.

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the pump from its packaging. Inspect the pump for any signs of damage during transit. Do not use the pump if any damage is observed. Contact your retailer for assistance.
3.2 Connecting the Discharge Hose
The pump offers multiple connection options for discharge hoses. Attach a suitable hose to the discharge outlet. Ensure the connection is secure to prevent leaks during operation.

3.3 Positioning the Pump
Place the pump on a stable, flat surface in the water to be pumped. Ensure the pump is fully submerged and not resting directly on mud or debris that could block the intake. The 10-meter power cable allows for flexible positioning.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Automatic Operation with Float Switch
The HECHT 3011 is equipped with an automatic float switch. The pump will start automatically when the water level rises and lifts the float switch. It will stop when the water level drops and the float switch falls to a certain level.
- Ensure the float switch can move freely and is not obstructed by walls or debris.
- Adjust the length of the float switch cable to set the desired on/off water levels. A shorter cable length will result in a higher 'on' level and a higher 'off' level.
4.2 Manual Operation (if applicable)
If the pump supports manual operation, typically by securing the float switch in an 'up' position, the pump will run continuously. Refer to the specific markings on your float switch or pump for manual mode instructions. Always monitor the pump during manual operation to prevent dry running.
4.3 Power Connection
Once the pump is positioned and the hose is connected, plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet. The pump will begin operation according to the float switch position.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your pump.
5.1 Cleaning
- After Each Use: Rinse the pump thoroughly with clean water, especially if used with dirty or muddy water. This prevents sediment buildup.
- Intake Area: Periodically check the pump's intake area for blockages from debris, leaves, or other foreign objects. Clear any obstructions carefully after disconnecting power.
5.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, clean the pump, drain all water, and store it in a dry, frost-free location. Protect the power cord from damage during storage.
6. Troubleshooting
Before attempting any repairs, always disconnect the pump from the power supply.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start. | No power supply. Float switch not activated. Motor overload. |
Check power connection and circuit breaker. Ensure water level is high enough to lift float switch. Allow motor to cool down; check for blockages. |
| Pump runs but no water is discharged. | Intake blocked. Discharge hose kinked or blocked. Air lock. |
Clear debris from intake. Check and clear discharge hose. Lift and lower pump slightly to release trapped air. |
| Reduced pumping capacity. | Partial blockage. Worn impeller. Excessive discharge head. |
Clean intake and impeller area. Contact service for impeller replacement. Ensure discharge hose is not too long or elevated too high. |
