Setup and Installation

The Dyson Airblade V features an easy-mount backplate designed for straightforward self-service installation. While the installation process is designed to be user-friendly, it is recommended that a qualified professional handles the electrical connection to ensure compliance with all safety standards and local building codes.

  1. Site Selection: Choose a suitable location on a solid wall, ensuring adequate space around the unit for user access and maintenance. The slim profile of the Airblade V means it only protrudes 4 inches from the wall, making it suitable for ADA compliance without additional recessing.
  2. Mounting the Backplate: Secure the easy-mount backplate to the wall using appropriate fasteners for your wall type. Ensure it is level and firmly attached.
  3. Electrical Connection: Connect the hand dryer to the electrical supply. This step should be performed by a licensed electrician. Ensure the power is off at the circuit breaker before making any connections.
  4. Attaching the Unit: Once the electrical connections are secure, carefully attach the main hand dryer unit to the mounted backplate. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
  5. Final Checks: Restore power and test the unit's operation. Verify that the touch-free sensor activates the dryer correctly.

Operating Instructions

The Dyson Airblade V hand dryer is designed for simple, touch-free operation.

  1. Prepare Hands: After washing, shake off excess water from your hands.
  2. Activate Dryer: Place your hands directly under the air outlet. The infrared sensor will detect your hands and automatically activate the airflow.
  3. Dry Hands: Move your hands slowly up and down within the airflow for approximately 12 seconds until they are dry. The powerful air blades efficiently remove water.
  4. Deactivation: Once your hands are removed from the sensor's range, the dryer will automatically turn off.

The unit is designed to provide a quick and effective drying experience. While the airflow is powerful, some users may find it beneficial to move their hands to ensure all areas are thoroughly dried.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and hygiene of your Dyson Airblade V hand dryer.

  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray water directly onto the unit.
  • Air Inlet Grilles: Periodically check and clean the air inlet grilles to prevent dust and debris buildup, which can restrict airflow.
  • HEPA Filter: The Dyson Airblade V is equipped with a HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. While designed for long life, the filter may require replacement over time depending on usage and environmental conditions. Refer to the Dyson support website or your product manual for specific filter replacement instructions and schedules.
  • General Inspection: Regularly inspect the unit for any signs of damage or wear. If any issues are observed, contact Dyson support.
