Product Overview

Setup

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging.
2. Initial Cleaning: Wash the jug, lid, and filter holder by hand using mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly. Do not wash the MAXTRA+ filter cartridge in a dishwasher.
3. Prepare Filter Cartridge: Submerge the new MAXTRA+ filter cartridge in cold water for approximately 15 minutes. Gently shake it to remove any air bubbles. This primes the filter for optimal performance.
4. Insert Filter Cartridge: Place the prepared MAXTRA+ filter cartridge into the funnel (filter holder) until it clicks securely into place.
5. First Fill: Open the small filler flap on the lid and fill the funnel with cold tap water. Allow the water to filter through. Discard the first two fillings or use them for watering plants. This ensures the filter is fully activated and ready for use.
6. Activate Filter Change Indicator: Press and hold the 'START' button on the lid's electronic indicator for a few seconds until the display shows 100% (all bars illuminated). This resets the timer for your new filter.

Operating Instructions

The Brita Marella XL jug is designed for convenient daily use to provide filtered water.

1. Filling the Jug: To refill, simply open the small filler flap on the lid and place the jug under your cold water tap. Fill the funnel with tap water. The water will pass through the MAXTRA+ filter cartridge and collect in the main jug.
2. Pouring Filtered Water: Once the water has filtered into the main jug, you can pour it directly. The lid is designed to ensure only filtered water is dispensed, preventing unfiltered water from mixing.
3. Storage: For optimal freshness and taste, store your filtered water in a cool, dark place, such as your refrigerator.

2. Resetting the Indicator: After replacing a used filter with a new one, press and hold the 'START' button on the lid until the display shows 100% again. This resets the countdown for the new filter.
3. Cleaning the Jug: Wash the jug, lid, and filter holder regularly with mild dish soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly. The lid, which contains the electronic indicator, should not be immersed in water or washed in a dishwasher to prevent damage to the electronics.

Troubleshooting
