Operating the Remote
Basic Functions
Once programmed, the remote's buttons will control the selected device. Use the device keys (TV, STB, BLU, AUDIO, DEVICES) to switch between controlling different devices.
- Power (Red Button): Turns the selected device on or off.
- Volume (+/-): Adjusts the volume of the currently selected audio device or TV.
- Channel (Up/Down): Changes channels on the selected TV or STB.

Activity Control
The ACTIVITY button allows you to control multiple devices simultaneously for a specific activity, such as "Watch TV" or "Watch Movie." This feature can be configured via the mobile app or manual programming to send commands to different devices with a single button press.
Learning Functions
The URC7955 can learn functions directly from your original remote controls. This is useful for commands not present in the universal remote's code database or for customizing button assignments.
- Place the URC7955 and your original remote on a flat surface, facing each other, about 1-2 inches apart.
- Press and hold the MAGIC button until the LED blinks twice.
- Press the device key (e.g., TV) you want to learn a function for.
- Press the button on the URC7955 you wish to program. The LED will blink rapidly.
- Press and hold the corresponding button on your original remote until the URC7955 LED blinks twice. This indicates successful learning.
- Repeat for other buttons or press MAGIC to exit learning mode.
Macro Functions
The remote supports macro functions, allowing you to program a sequence of up to 15 commands to a single button. This can be configured through the app or manual programming steps detailed in the full manual.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean your remote, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or wet cloths, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.
Battery Replacement
Replace the AA batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or the LED indicator blinks unusually. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh. Point the remote directly at the device.
- Device not controlling: Verify that the correct device key (e.g., TV, STB) is selected. Re-enter the setup code or try a different code for your device brand. Ensure the remote is within range and there are no obstructions.
- Some buttons not working: If specific buttons do not function, try the learning function to copy them from your original remote. Ensure the device is in the correct mode for the button's function.
- LED indicator issues: Refer to the full manual for specific LED blink patterns and their meanings. A rapidly blinking LED during setup often indicates an issue with code entry or learning.
