4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Timekeeping

Once the time and date are set, the watch will operate continuously. The small second hand at the 6 o'clock position indicates the running seconds for the current time.

4.2 Using the Chronograph (Stopwatch Function)

The chronograph function allows you to measure elapsed time.

  1. Start: Press pusher (B) to start the chronograph. The large red second hand will begin to move, and the chronograph minute hand (at 9 o'clock) will advance after 60 seconds.
  2. Stop: Press pusher (B) again to stop the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated by the large red second hand and the chronograph minute hand.
  3. Reset: After stopping the chronograph, press pusher (C) to reset both the large red second hand and the chronograph minute hand to their zero positions.

Note: The chronograph can be stopped and restarted multiple times by pressing pusher (B) repeatedly to measure cumulative elapsed time. Press pusher (C) only when the chronograph is stopped to reset it.

4.3 Water Resistance

Your Sekonda Model 1226 watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM). This rating means the watch is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water, such as showering or swimming in shallow water. It is not suitable for diving, snorkeling, or high-impact water sports.

  • Do not operate the crown or pushers when the watch is wet or submerged.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to hot water or steam, as this can compromise the water resistance seals.
  • It is advisable to have the water resistance seals checked periodically, especially if the watch is frequently exposed to water.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel bracelets, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using chemical cleaners or abrasive materials.

5.2 Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a quartz movement requiring one product-specific battery (included). When the battery is depleted, the watch will stop. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure the correct battery type is used and the water resistance is maintained.

5.3 Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. The original watch box is ideal for storage.
