5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for effective and safe operation of your Kärcher K1700 Pressure Washer.

  1. Turn on Water Supply: Fully open the water faucet to ensure a steady supply to the pressure washer.
  2. Purge Air from System: Before turning on the power, squeeze the trigger gun to release any air trapped in the pump and hose. Allow water to flow freely from the nozzle for about 30 seconds.
  3. Power On: Use the convenient on/off foot switch to power on the unit. The motor will start when the trigger is squeezed and stop when released.
  4. Begin Cleaning: Direct the spray at the surface to be cleaned, maintaining an appropriate distance to avoid damage. Start with a wider spray pattern and move closer if more intensity is needed.
  5. Using Nozzles:
    • 15° Nozzle: Ideal for general cleaning tasks on most surfaces.
    • Turbo Nozzle: Provides an oscillating pinpoint stream for intense cleaning power on stubborn dirt and grime. Use with caution on delicate surfaces.
    • 65° Soap Nozzle: Designed for applying detergent. The wide spray pattern ensures even coverage.
  6. Applying Detergent: When using the soap nozzle and the detergent tank is filled, the pressure washer will automatically draw detergent when operating at low pressure.
  7. After Use: Turn off the power using the foot switch, then turn off the water supply. Squeeze the trigger gun to release any remaining pressure in the system. Disconnect hoses and store the unit properly.
