3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Parent Unit

Before initial use, fully charge the Parent Unit for approximately 8 hours. Connect the provided power adapter to the Parent Unit and a power outlet. The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.

3.2 Powering On/Off

• Parent Unit: Press and hold the Power button until the HelloBaby logo appears/disappears.
• Baby Unit: Connect the provided power adapter to the Baby Unit and a power outlet. The unit will automatically power on.

3.3 Placement of the Baby Unit (Camera)

Place the Baby Unit in a location that provides a clear view of your baby. Ensure it is at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from your baby to avoid potential hazards. The camera can be placed on a flat surface or wall-mounted using the included kit.

3.4 Pairing the Units

The Parent Unit and Baby Unit are pre-paired at the factory. If the connection is lost or you are adding additional cameras, follow these steps:

1. Press the Menu/OK button on the Parent Unit.
2. Navigate to the Camera Settings icon (usually a camera symbol).
3. Select 'Add Camera' and follow the on-screen prompts.
4. Press the pairing button on the back of the Baby Unit within 10 seconds.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Controls

• Volume Control: Use the UP/DOWN arrow buttons on the Parent Unit to adjust the listening volume.
• Brightness Control: Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow buttons to adjust the screen brightness.
• Menu Navigation: Press the Menu/OK button to access settings. Use arrow buttons to navigate and OK to confirm.

4.2 Lullaby Function

To soothe your baby, you can play one of 8 pre-programmed lullabies. Access the Lullaby Setting from the menu to select and activate a melody.

4.3 Two-Way Talkback

Press and hold the Talk button on the Parent Unit to speak to your baby through the Baby Unit's speaker. Release the button to hear your baby.

4.4 Night Vision

The Baby Unit automatically activates infrared night vision in low-light conditions, providing a clear black-and-white image on the Parent Unit.

4.5 Temperature Monitoring

The Baby Unit includes a temperature sensor that displays the room temperature on the Parent Unit. You can set temperature alerts in the menu settings.

4.6 VOX (Auto Mute) Mode

In VOX mode, the Parent Unit's speaker will turn off when the sound in the baby's room is below 50dB for more than 7 seconds. It will reactivate when noise is detected. This feature helps conserve battery life and reduces background noise.

4.7 Digital Zoom

The monitor supports digital zoom to get a closer look at your baby. Access this feature through the menu or a dedicated button (refer to your specific model's button layout).

4.8 Multi-Camera View

If you have multiple Baby Units, you can switch between them or use the scan mode to cycle through each camera's view. This is managed through the Camera Settings menu.

5. Maintenance

• Clean the monitor and camera with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents.
• Keep the units away from water and moisture.
• Ensure proper ventilation for both units.
• For optimal battery life, avoid overcharging the Parent Unit for extended periods.

6. Troubleshooting

• No Signal/Poor Connection: Ensure both units are powered on and within range. Reduce obstacles between units. Re-pair the units if necessary.
• No Sound: Check the volume level on the Parent Unit. Ensure VOX mode settings are appropriate.
• Poor Image Quality: Adjust brightness. Ensure the camera lens is clean. Check for sufficient lighting (night vision should activate automatically in darkness).
• Monitor Freezes/Unresponsive: Locate the reset button (often a small pinhole on the back of the Parent Unit) and press it gently with a paperclip.
• Short Battery Life: Ensure the Parent Unit is fully charged before use. Battery performance may degrade over time.
